2005 Scion tC Hatchback 2dr Hatchback (2.4L 4cyl 5M)

Review

The car has ample acceleration, response (not sports car) suspension and steering, and does actually get higher gas mileage than expected (the ones i've seen driven, all about 25- 27mpg). If you go in comparing to a 250hp suped up sports car, of course it's not going to satisfy you. If you want a car that can move well, get you from point a to point b, and have a very attractive exterior. this is a great buy.

Best Features

Acceleration above the rest in it's price range/class. Handling second only to mazda 3's. Suprisingly roomy for a small car. I'm 6'3, and i can sit in the back with the front all the way to the back, and still stretch out my legs.

Worst Features

try to squeeze another inch into the height of the roofline. Bottom side of drivers dash seems a bit tight when you're in the car

Review

Best car in class, hands down. I've driven the Mazda3 (M3) and while not as responsive (or "sportie") as the M3, overall it is a much better car then the M3. Build quailty is FAR better on the tC, Interior is laid out better, ride is less harsh, good low down torque. Overall, the quality of daily driving the tC makes up for not being as well tuned as the M3. One problem is that the dealership treats you like dirt. Low profit = unhappy dealers. My car had 3 bad scratches/chips, pulled to the right, and the sunroof cracked when I took dilivery, they refused to fix the problems. That was AFTER they promised they'd fix everything IF I told Toyota I was happy with my dealership experence.

Best Features

Pros: Toyota build quality, high quality inside and out. Good performance for the price. Well laid out for maintanance (do not need to jack the car up to change oil, drain plug and filter are within easy reach) Belts, Waterpump, O2 Sensor, etc. will be easy to replace when the time comes.

Worst Features

Drivers leg room width at the knees is TIGHT (and I'm only 5'9!) not a very fun after 30 minutes of driving. Got Understeer? Car needs a LSD bad. TRD should have made a Turbo not a S/C. And why in the wolrd hasn't anybody made a RWD I-4 (2.6L) 6spd. low curb weight hatch? It'd sell like hot cakes!

Review

No car in same class/category can compete with the tC. So many features for such a fair price. I dont see why anyone would get any other car around same price range. I pity those would spend the same amount on the civic, which looks plain, and is unequipped with little power. Move over Honda....SCION RULES!!!

Best Features

Panorama moonroof.

Worst Features

Fix the mysterious noises from random places in the car.
