Oh, I think many reviewers are disappointed in the relatively small gain in MPG. Most hybrid "purists" would most likely prefer to spend the extra 3K and get a "full" hybrid. The Vue engine never shuts off except when the vehicle is stopped. "Full" hybrids can run on pure electric for short distances. At present the only full hybrid with a 4Cyl engine is the Ford ... Its unfortunate that 1 person's view is this debilitating towards the vue. My husband is pro for the enviroment and first saw this vehicle at the auto show. He was impressed with alleged mpg. is it because of the carry over from previous years? That could be part of it - Karl remembers being underwhelmed (actually more like cramped) in a Saturn in '93. Heaven help Saturn if Daewoo is going to supply them with Saturns! You can see what a fiasco that relationship has been if you view the Suzuki Verona Forums. The car is such junk that it it won't even be built in 2007. In my opinion and I have owned 2 Saturns and 3 Chevrolets, GM is going down far and fast. The hybrid VUE is a much simpler hybrid system than the hybrids from Toyota, Ford, or others. Simpler makes it less expensive to produce and for people to own... it also should be less for maintenance or repair. It still saves a bunch of gas as a commuter, but you can still haul 5 comfortably. At the $23k price point it should be a hit. Read More...
