Before you take any suggestions via the internet check with a factory trained technician. Any person with some mechanical or electrical skills can reset the Vue computer module. Generally speaking removing the battery ground for one minute should reset the module. There is a problem doing what seems to be a "fix". The modules have a volatile memory. Here's a hint...when you go to trade it in, the day before, disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes and then reconnect it. It seems that when your BCM is on the way out, taking power off and then restoring 30 minutes later will reset it and it will work normally for a while. Thank you for you help with this. I guess I am going to get rid of my Saturn. Last year, I spent $1400.00 for the catalytic converters and in 2008 $800. for the Fuel pumps and fuel filter. I am tired off putting out a lot of money on it. But I do appreciate your help!

There's something going wrong with your Body Control Module - often called the BCM. It controls things like the gauges and the odometer. One of 2 issues: 1. The BCM grounds are corroded and need to be cleaned (not likely but worth mentioning) 2. Throttle Actuator Control System
My 2003 Saturn Vue has 125,000 miles. Recently the "Service Engine Light Soon" came on; this happened to correspond with my next Emissions Inspection. The Vue failed emissions due to P1276 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position not Learned. Can anyone tell me what this means and possible repair scenarios? Thanks!!!!

Commands from Floor/Panel/Defrost knob are ignored. Also, the 3 buttons along the bottom are not functioning (A/C, rear defrost, recirculate?) I feel your pain. I am upside down in my 2003 Saturn Vue and the transmission went out two weeks ago with milage under 100k. There is a class action lawsuit going on you might be elligible for if your transmission is out and there's a Saturn Special Assistance you might qualify for.

I just got a call from the dealership. They found the issue. There was a wire that burnt through in the firewall and shorted out against the frame. They were very understanding and are only charging me less than $300 even though they spent a good 15-20 hours on it trying to trace the short.

Very long story, but my 2003 Saturn Vue is at my local "Saturn Authorized Dealer" awaiting it's 5th transmission. It takes 7-10 days to get it and another two days to fix it. Hi Did you get your trans. fixed? I am having same problem. Once car warms up it will not go forward when you put it in drive. Reverse does work. The guy at the shop replaced torque converter and some cooling lines. Thats what came up on the code. Its an 03 Vue with the cvt trans. Any help would be great. Mechanic can't figure it out.

Ill reply to this old question just to get it on the record. Lost clutch slave cylinder in my 2003 Vue also. Had it taken to Saturn of worchester in massachusetts. the slave cylinder is not bolted to the external of the transmission but is inside. so the transmission had to be pulled to replace it. cost was 1300 dollars. parts and labor

Be extra careful using replays as a guide to solving a technical problem. The Saturn Vue has a very complicated computer system. It requires all the modules to be in sync and communication data to each other. Ours has not "glitches" for over a year. Hi, You don't mention which engine/transmission you have but I'm going to take a wild guess: You have a 4 cylinder engine with the VTi transmission. The fluid they want you to add is called the VTi additive and GM said to put it in at the 50,000 mile mark. Its supposed to prolong the life of the transmission...it doesn't really work as this transmission was poorly designed and it fails ... Read More

The Saturn service techs could not find out what caused the computer program glitch. I found by experimenting that removing the cars battery ground cable e.g. bolt and waiting a minute the computer system resets. Keeping my fingers crossed that it does not happen again. Ok...worry no more... I assure you it is a BCM problem. Should cost you between $400-500 for parts and labor to install at dealer. I had similar problems, procrastinated checked all sorts of things, at end of day it was BCM. For now or to get car to dealer, disconnect battery for 5 minutes and then reconnected. Everything should return to normal temporarily so no need for towing. If it does ... Read More

I don't have personal experience with it as mine is a 5 speed manual but: From what I've read, there are a couple of causes: - Fluid level - make sure the trans is HOT and then check the fluid level. Before you panic - sometimes the Aisin tranny will act funny and the RPMs will flare like you described when the trans fluid level is low - you might want to check it...
