Electrical Issues: Your problem the system is grounding thus kill all electrical activity. I had this issue for over a year and it was finally identified and repaired (no parts were required). The location of my grounding issue was on the driver side of the engine bay. Thanks for responding. First went to dealer with an estimated cost of $150 IF "that's what it is". What did I have to lose? Went to Salvo got a relay ($14.70 - what a deal!). As I popped the hood a Salvo employee came outside, spent some time listening to the car and suggested that since the car was starting/turning over to postpone replacing relay until the instance re-occurs. Sounds like the relay is bad - Its likely that the relay that they switched the wiper one for was the fuel pump relay...bring the relay to your local auto parts store and get a new one and install it yourself...may likely solve your problem. Its as easy as unplugging the old one and plugging the new one in - the part should be under $ 25. Good Luck

We took it to the GM dealer, but they couldn't find anything wrong as it wasn't doing it when we brought it in. They said the computer wasn't communicating. It hasn't done it again since!

OMG...I am sorrry to read this 5 or so years later. But if you read this now, just be aware: It happened to me but it was a major problem and it ran into plenty $$. It was an engine problem which despite of many previous times checked by the Saturn mechanics, happened despite their saying 'nothing was wrong'. :(

Don't get it fixed - the VTi transmission in the 2002-2004 4 cylinder Vues has been a giant sized wart on Saturn/GM. There is a wealth of information on the internet about the failures of this transmission. Search "saturn VTi transmission". A TSB is not like a recall, it is only a factory recommended fix if a vehicle exhibits a particular problem. If you never have the problem, you never need the fix... Me too! I think I have it figured out.. just need some help!
I have a 2002 Saturn Vue and have had electrical problems on and off since 2005. Basically, I believe it all stems from my sunroof. Both drains to the sunroof have had issues, getting clogged or broken. This causes water to be leaked down the pillar and into some electrical component. brake light fuse keeps blowing!!
I have a 2002 saturn vue, andthe 15 amp fuse keeps blowing!! I have to change the fuse after 30 min. of driving...such a hassle. Could it be the brake light switch?? Please help me... mother with active kids and tired of changing fuses constantly :(

If you haven't gotten this fixed yet have them check the "body control module". I had to drive clear to Saturn of Rosseville to get mine fixed but I had the same symptoms and they fixed it (not cheap!) Good Luck!

The bad news is that the horn switch is integrated into the air bag assembly, so replacing the horn switch requires replacing the entire assembly (I was past warranty). It's a poor design for sure. I was able to pull the hazard (flasher) button out of the console & see the assembly & light bulb, but there was no way it seemed like it was going to be snapped out. We had similar electrical problems with our 2002 Vue. In the end, they replaced the wiring harness and they went away. Getting to that was a fiasco, though. Our extended warranty didn't want to pay for the repair, since the dealership didn't want to individually check each wire of the harness to prove that something was actually broken. My daughter has a 2002 Saturn Vue. While driving, the instrument panel "turns off". It lasts momentarily and then as mysteriously as it "turned off" it comes back on. I don't believe the engine dies. It's annoying to her and the dealer says they can't find the cause. Any clues?

The 3.5 Honda engine and 5 speed auto trans has been used on Pilot, Odyssey and Acura MDX a long time ago. I heard that Honda had some problems with 2002, 2003 trans. I don't know about 2004 trans. IMHO, Saturn will handling out the voucher as long as they want to sell their cars, but I am not sure about 3.5 K rebate, specially 1K from GM Truckfest

sorry to hear of your strut probs....my 2002 has left front strut replaced once; sway bar has been FOUR times. I love my VUE but smell a lemon. To Saturn's credit, they extended my warranty at no charge. Sounds generous; but there's supposedly no fix. Any comments?????

I haven't had the problem with our 2003, but it looks like there was a TSB for front struts on the 2002's: Component Description: 34. Forester: everything you expect from Subaru. Nice ride, great AWD system standard, great crash test scores. 2003 model looks much better. I'd go for the Impreza TS wagon for a few grand less or the WRX wagon (woo-hoo!) for not much more, but if you need the SUV look it's hard to fault the Forester. Bought a 6 cyl 2002 AWD red Vue in July and am quite delighted. Got the sunroof, abs, side airbags and upgraded cd/casette stereo system for $23,500. I have a 2002 V6 AWD Vue, manufacture date 5/08/02, purchase date June 20. I've had it in for service twice so far, both times for a "popping" noise coming from the engine compartment.
