I have a 2002 Saturn Vue with the VTi transmission. I tried to call the number several people posted (800-790-5700), but it has been disconnected/changed/no longer in service! My transmission is going out and I'm afraid to drive my car -where can I go for help? Also, I never received a recall notice about this transmission.

Vti transmission recall
Written by: hgriff on Mar 23, 2013 4:03:11 PM
I have a 2002 6 cyl Saturn Vue and am now facing replacing the transmission. I understand there was a class action lawsuit regarding the VTi transmission recall, but I read that GM is limiting payment to Vues with less than 125,000 miles and no more than 8 years old. I will call the number listed in some earlier posts. Just wondering what my chances are of receiving any compensation from ... Read More

I have a 2003 Vue with no reverse. This car runs and drives. Just won't go backwards. Are you guys saying the dealer will still give you $5000 towards a new car?? Surely there is some kind of solution. I can't believe this car is now just junk.

Don't buy 2002-05 Saturn Vue or Ion! VTI transmission failure expected by GM but no recall issued. I have a 2003 Vue with 67k miles that is now worth scrap metal because I cannot afford the $5500 rebuilt transmission. My car is only worth $6500. There is a wealth of information on the internet about the failures of this transmission. Search "saturn VTi transmission". A TSB is not like a recall, it is only a factory recommended fix if a vehicle exhibits a particular problem. If you never have the problem, you never need the fix... There are "authorized saturn service centers" which you can find by zip code on www.saturn.com There's nothing special about a Vue, any mechanic can work on them The Ecotec has been a pretty solid performer and is used across ... Hi all. Just thought I would pop in and say hi. Our 2002 Vue is still running very well. No complaints though our baby makes my handle kind of obsolete now. The Vue is a perfect family car, the stroller and "stuff" all fit nicely in the back. That said, if we have another kid we may have to look at a Saturn Relay for more space.

IMHO, Saturn will handling out the voucher as long as they want to sell their cars, but I am not sure about 3.5 K rebate, specially 1K from GM Truckfest
