Review

I only wish I had shopped around before buying this car. Our experience with this car has been horrible yet all these GREAT reviews....sounds awfull fishy to me. Little history. Was in the shop with a transmission problem at a little over 400 miles and now a brake problem. Oh, and did I mention the interior...I thought it would grow on me but cheap is cheap and uncomfortable. My kids hate it and complain it is difficult to sit more than 30 min in the back seats. Oh well, live and learn. Should have listened to my husband. He wanted a Honda.

Suggested Improvements

Build a car people want to drive and move the instrument pannel back to the left from the middle.

Review

My original choice was not the Saturn but after an intensive month of shopping and visiting the dealers I was disgusted with other dealers sales tactics, and decided to give the Ion a look. The Ion 3 with the 170hp, 2.4L engine in my opinion compares to the Mazda6. There are no dealer games and they got me awesome GMAC financing. This is the first time I feel like I got an absolute steal on a car purchase. The only thing that needed getting used to was the console that is in the center of the dashboard. But if you shop Saturn you get a big bang for the buck and no sleazy dealer tricks.

Upgraded 2.4Liter 270hp engine Leather seating Onstar & XM

Suggested Improvements

Radio Controls on the steering wheel. Front cup holders in a more logical location. Every GM make and model should be sold with the Saturn no haggle pricing model.

Review

This car must be the greatest well-kept secret on the market ! More features (Recaro seats, OnStar, audio) than Cobalt SS at less money ! Less than Neon or any asian tuner. Do yourself a favor, and check out this car.

Favorite Features

Acceleration with supercharger is great. Like the styling. Have XM radio with advanced audio sound, and OnStar is standard equipment !

Suggested Improvements

Recaro seats are a little tight, but not excrutiating.

Great car for your money

Review

This coupe is fun to drive and is styled very nicely. I especially like the bucket seats in the rear. Car drives smooth and handles well. The only negative is the rear view is small especially if you get a spoiler, but overall this car gives you a lot for your money.

Rear bucket seats, standard OnStar, sound system.

Larger rear view window.

Review

Handles good, good performance, love the 2.4 litre engine and the performance package, onstar,etc. the list goes on. I have had my ION 3 for a month and have no compalints. I don't understand why the car critics aren't more fovorible towards the Saturn.

Favorite Features

I like the 2.4 litre engine, the six in dash cd units, instrument cluster in center of dash, the travel package and performance package are worth the cost.

Suggested Improvements

More back seat room, need of driver foot rest and I have to search for the clock. It gets lost in the instrument cluster.

Review

This is my first compact car in a long time. However, I love the way this car handles, look and perform. Although I have the 2.2 L engine and an automatic, it moves. The steering is amazing: one of the smallest turn radious I have experienced. Everything works in the car. I love the travel package. The car has features of a bigger car, but packaged perfect for its size. Right now, I will not hesitate to buy another ION (or Saturn). I love the rust proof plastic panels.

Favorite Features

Travel package, remote control entry, On-Star, ABS, a very friendly radio with good system and very easy to go in and out of it.

Suggested Improvements

Increase the engine to 2.4 or 2.5 as a Standard feature

I needed a reliable car and that is what I got. Once I got used to the instrument panel being in the middle, I haven't had any problems. I am enjoying my vehicle and looking forward to years of use.

Great until something goes wrong

I have only had my ION for 3 months. Needless to say when I was on the highway a deer decided that it liked my car better than me. So he took out the front end of it. looking at $6000.00 in damages. But my problem is that when it hit me my seat belts completly locked up and refuse to come loose at all. If it was anywhere near my neck it would have killed me. Now after most of the repairs have been done the body shop has had to order now 3 times seat belts and all of them have been defective. Needless to say all the other parts had to been ordered twice because they had cracks. This is not giving me a good opinion on Saturn at all.

Favorite Features

I do like my car just not how things are being handled. I would have to say that I love having having the guages in the center of the dash instead of in front of the steering wheel. Easier to see.

Suggested Improvements

Make it where when something goes wrong, have parts available that don't have defects.

Review

I recently bought a RL and have been very pleased. It is rated at 205 bhp and unlike most cars that is what you will be getting at the wheels not the crank. In a straight line it will blow away a 06 Civic Si everytime. Also there are rumors that GM is releasing "Performance Upgrade" kits to boost the performance to 252 bhp and 240 lb/ft of torque.

Hard to belive that 3000 miles have come and gone since my first review car car gets 22mpg and I have had no problems. driving it the last 3000 miles has verified that I made the correct choice, attended my first owner clinic yesterday, outstanding. If you buy one of these cars buy a radar detctor you'll need it. If your looking for a small car this should be at the top of your list. If Gm would run all of their business this way they will have a future

Adding a 12 volt power outlet in the trunk and a remote control for the right mirror for those those cars that have crank windows would be nice and a redisign of the front hood latch which is too small is my only complant on this car that I could not fix
