I just love driving this car. I get great comments about the beauty of the car from strangers. It handles great with great passing ability and smooth acceleration entering the highway. My two golden retrievers sleep or rest comfortably on long drives. I just can't say enough about what a lovely car this 97x is to own and drive!

Favorite Features

Great acceleration, great comfort, nice lower profile for ease in entrance,Great looks!

Suggested Improvements

I would like better coffee or beverage holder in front. A little more storage in front.

I am over 6 ft and this car fits my style perfectly, head room, leg room great. I had considered the Mercedes SUV but glad I changed my mind and thought about the Saab ingenuity. Love the way it drives and handles. It is a statement SUV despite the connection with GM.

Favorite Features

Comfortable seats, drive and sound system. OnStar a plus.

Suggested Improvements

As a woman, storage in front is what is lacking.

Got the 9-7X 5.3i this past June for my wife. We really like the styling, the front end is clean and the lowered suspension gives a sporty look. Definitely a better look than the other platform-mates. Get a lot of compliments as well.

Favorite Features

Styling, large wheels, handles better than most truck-based SUVs. Acceleration is great with the V8. Like the interior details - seat stitching, soft dash materials, quietness, air compressor. HID headlamps, nav system, Stabilitrak, XM.

Suggested Improvements

HATE the DRLs, but worse is the ridiculously large key/keyfob unit. They couldn't have made it retract like the VW/Audi ones? In daily use this is my biggest complaint. I also think that for $45K it should lose the mast antenna. Dash-mounted cupholder doesn't hold anything (but looks cool!).

Review

For once we have a vehicle that is what it is supposed to be: an unpretentious upscale SUV. As an owner of four Saabs over the years, each met my expectation of what I thought it was supposed to be. This is one of Saab's strengths. I have loved each for what they were: sporty in some cases, practical in others. The 9-7x is a little of both. I truly enjoy the 9-7x for the space it provides, the smooth pleasant ride, great comfort, and a sense of size without being overwhelming to the driver. I test drove most other SUV types in this class (from a well equipped Honda Pilot to the Volvo, Acura, Mercedes, Mazda models) and found sometimes small, sometimes large disappointments with each. Try it.

Favorite Features

Comfort, sense of space because of larger windows, smooth drive and overall responsiveness for SUV excellent. Fine family vehicle for trips as well as local stuff. Transmission good with smooth transition between gears. Could use fifth gear but not a problem.

Suggested Improvements

Of course gas mileage, but this is true with all SUV type vehicles. Backup signal (like on the 9.3 Vector model I had) would be useful, especially in this larger vehicle.

This is a nice SUV, It looks great and handles like a car.

Favorite Features

The SUV is a head turner, great power, all options included in the base price

Suggested Improvements

I would like to have the option of two wheel drive and AWD, rather then the automatic AWD. Going around a corner in the snow I am uneasy wonding if it is in four wheel drive or rear two wheel drive.

Very good vehicle, much better fit and finish then the siblings. Engine is plenty powerful. Good handling. Very smooth ride.

Favorite Features

Air compressor in the back.

Suggested Improvements

MUST improve the interior packaging - lack of storage space is a pain.

This car is better than I imagined. Great performance, styling, and comfort. I get a ton of compliments on the car and I am surprised not to see more on the road.

I got my new "baby" for Valentine's Day and I love it so much I can't wait to drive it every day. This car looks great, has tons of power, very comfortable and reliable. Smooth ride! I get a lot of attention from other drivers who are still not used to seeing a Saab SUV on the road.

Favorite Features

Nav. system, DVD player, touch pad stereo.

Suggested Improvements

More cargo space and better fuel economy. Also, I would love to see that little "side bar" thingy that goes on the sides of the vehicle disappear - it's uncomfortable on my shins when I try to pull the infant car seat from the middle of the back seat (that's where we have our infant seat installed).

I looked the the GMC Envoy Denalli and SLT with the 4.2. In the Envoy there was a huge difference between the Denalli and the SLT with the 4.2. The 9-7x falls right in between as far a comfort and ride. You get much more luxury with the 9-7 than with the Envoy SLT. The 9-7's ride and handling with the lower profile and larger wheels makes a dramatic difference. Unless you actually want to drive somewhere off road, I would choose the 9-7 vs its GM brothers. The downside is the quality and fit and finish are still GM. You're not buying a lexus.

Favorite Features

Looks, suspension and lower profile. It's a sharp car.

Suggested Improvements

Fit and finish. The car looks good, but the quality of the materials and the fit leaves a lot to be desired.

We just bought the 9-7X last week and absolutely love it. We test drove the Lexus 350, Volvo X90 and while they were great cars themselves, it was hard to pass up all the standard features the Saab had that we'd end up having to add on with the others. Great car!

Favorite Features

All of it.

Suggested Improvements

Work on the gas mileage.
