Re: [lfo]
Don't worry: GM dealers selling Saabs are still fiddling while Rome is burning. Most just can't deviate from "Let's rip everyone, get right to four squares" mode. A few dealers have begun to discount these vehicles heavily. A few New England dealers advertised new 2008 9-5s for between $22.9 and 24.9k. While I have always liked the 9-5, though I never owned one, ... Read More...
2006 Saab Navigation System
Just bought a 2006 Saab. Has the nav system, but no DVD came with the car. Are all DVD's compatible. For example, can I buy a 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008 DVD and it will work. I plan on buying at ebay, is that a wise move? Read More...

Re: 2008 9-5 lease and rebates [airpower]
My Saab dealer is quoting me 4.35% APR on a 39 month lease; does this sound right or are they marking things up? Read More...
Re: 2008 9-5 lease and rebates [shorebound]
I am also about to lease a 2008 9-5. Let me give you some quick tips. The $2500 cash to dealer, and the current Saab $1000 bonus cash are NOT valid on leases. In April, Saab did have a $1000 lease bonus. I am waiting for that to come back. I am hoping for a July 4th sale of some kind. Also - The only way to lease a Saab (if you can afford it) is with GM's SmartLease Plus program. ... Read More...
Re: 2003 saab 95 aero AT [saablcp]
Just speculating here on Saab CPOs which go for six years or 100K from date of service. I think it's correct to say that right now Saab will only CPO cars that are 2004 or newer. But suppose that an '03 Saab had been turned in at the end of its lease, been CPOed (good for 6 years or 100K) and resold. Then suppose the second owner in 2008 trades it in for another brand. If mileage ... Read More...
New Wagon
I am looking at replacing our 99V70 with a new (or slightly used) wagon - either a Saab 9.5 or another Volvo. Volvo is preferred at the moment mainly because Saab has little product in my area and overpriced. I am in Canada and looking at importing the Saab from US as the MSRP is close to $8k less for new. But - having owned a 2001 Saab 9.5 sedan, and the heavy depreciation, ... Read More...
2001 9.5 IDM defect not warranted by SAAB
My husband and I purchased a 2001 SAAB 9.5 new in Oct. 2001, drawn to the auto for it's safety rating. In Oct. 2005 I received a letter from SAAB informing me that the IDM was defective on the SAAB 9.5's. The letter stated what to watch for and to immediately stop driving the car and get service if the engine started firing on only 3 cylinders. They said I would be receiving ... Read More...
Re: hard to start..with white smoke and smeel of fuel [h20man5]
If the turbo was not the problem...we have a 2001 9.5 six cylinder..there was a recall on the IDM's in the 9.5, although SAAB has said it didn't relate to the 6 cylinder, both the IDM's in my 9.5 went out...one in Nov 2005 shortly after receiving the written notification that the IDM's were defective (SAAB paid for the replacement). They refused to replace the other ... Read More...
Re: Saab Euro delivery program [saablcp]
GM seems to be doing everything it can to discourage people from buying SAABs, at least the 9-5, the replacement for which has been delayed several times. Is there any other 1998 vehicle still on sale as a 2008 model? Read More...
