- What We Know
- The 2009 Saab 9-4X crossover will slot into the company's lineup in place of the 9-6X SUV -- which was cancelled at the 11th hour after GM terminated its relationship with Subaru, its partner on the project. This midsize luxury crossover will share its long-wheelbase theta platform with the '09 Cadillac BRX as well as a similar vehicle to be manufactured by Buick. Use of this platform will give the 9-4X the capability of either front- or all-wheel drive. GM will be counting on vehicles like the 9-4X, with its feature-filled interior, room and 3.6-liter V6 to help revise its corporate fortunes. The company's tentative plans to build the vehicle at its Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico should help to keep costs down.
