After bringing the car home from Austin it has 34,800 miles. I like it; it gobbles highwy miles with ease. At 65MPH rpm is barely over 2000. I did not measure exact gas mileage but it had to be 30 or better with average spped close to 80MPH. My wife noticed it remided her of volkswagen she drove long time ago. I had a 2003 Saab 9-3 linear up until this February with the odometer reading in at about 90,000 miles. I purchased the car for $17k at the end of 2006 with 58,000 miles on the odometer. I had the same problem with the engine not starting, what happens is that the oil pressure builds up in the engine and the pressure sensor tells the computer not to let the engine start. there is a pressure relief kit that must be added to relieve the pressure of the motor oil building up in the block and is mounted near the oil pan (i had a technician install mine because ... Help, my 2000 9-3 dealer maintained Saab (94,000) was on the interstate and the turbo failed. Towed 120 miles back to repair shop that just replaced water pump, belts, tensioners and was told the turbo and engine need to be replaced. We bought a 2006 9-3 Sportcombi Aero with all options except the roof rails. It is the fastest best performing car my wife and I have ever owned. She wanted a wagon and it had the 5 star IIHS crash test ratings. Consumer reports said run away based on availability but many people, here in fact, said not to put too much stock in CR. I am looking into a 9-3 2002 or 2003 convertible. As a new Saab fan, are there differences between the 2 years - I have heard that the 2003 convertible did not make as many changes as the 2004. Even lower than the invoice price, thats beautiful. No opitons for $7,2000 for two years, priceless, your getting ripped. This was my sixth Saab, never pay near sticker, be ready for large depreciations, always have, seem to remain the same since my first in 86.
