My 4 Door 900S just keeps on running.
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 4 Dr S Hatchback
Review
I bought my 1995 900S on the internet in 2006. The car has 92K and a perfect car fax. The original owner only dealer serviced the car for it's first 11 years. It was involved in crash and needed a fender & door. Because of this I bought the car for $1200. I bought original parts online and a local body man put it all back together for $600.00. Sure my serpentine belt let go without warning. Lucky I stopped immediately. The clutch cable also let go. I have a really good Import guy. No more dealer service. The belt job with all new pulleys was $185.00. The Clutch cable job was $150.00. Saab wanted $650.00 for the job. I am happy for a total of 2K US this baby runs strong & Looks Sharp.
Favorite Features
5 Speed Manual trans. Window controls located in the console. Seats 5 with belts and headrests for all. 60/40 seats and crazy large trunk.
Suggested Improvements
A cup holder. I guess the Swedes believe in keeping both hands on the wheel. Let's get that dead pixel problem in the stereo fixed already.

Fun to drive
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 2 Dr SE Convertible
Review
I wasn't sure I wanted to buy this vehicle even after test driving it. It was 3 weeks later before I bought it. With a bit of luck I have a good mechanic how was very knowledgable with the saab. He told me it was a very good vehicle as far as this one is concerned. Someone took good care of it. I did have a lot of work done and was a bit of an expense but would not trade it for the world. I look forward to my 32 mile drive to work through the back roads of Chester county Pa. I love to have the top down as often as I can. I would not recommend this vehicle to those who bully on a vehicle but taken very good care of this vehicle will last another 100,000 miles. I love my saab.
Favorite Features
Easiness of top to put down. Handling and acceleration. Style before its time. comfort of seats (have bad back and comfort is very important). smoothness of engine.
Suggested Improvements
More quality leather. (Luckily I am an uphosterer by trade.) A place to put a beverage.

fun car but stay away with.
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 2 Dr SE Convertible
Review
I had this car for over 2 years now and bought it used. Ever since I owned the car, it gave me plenty of issue to deal with. The ignition switch, spark plug wires that cost $500, and things here and there. It finally died of timing belt mishaps where it was required to have replaced every 38,000 miles. It is stupid of me not to check that but that is crazy for every 38,000 miles! Since the top is falling apart, the shocks are gone, and half of the car does not run properly and it looks nice in the drive way with it's top down, I will have to let it goto the junk yard.
Favorite Features
It is a convertible and heated seats.
Suggested Improvements
Reliability, performance, and exterior.

Great car
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 4 Dr SE Hatchback
Review
Have enjoyed this car almost every minute. Handling, styling, interior, engine have all held up in nearly ten years as the second owner. Known issues like the timing chain Saab replaced at their expense at 90k miles. Wheels tended to bend easily adding to already existing steering geometry issue. Saab makes an upgrade kit to fix steering issues. Antenna no longer retracts; air_conditioner has hose leak, but these are minor considerations and arise with any vehicle. Just replaced rear shocks at 160k. Tune-ups and regular oil changes keep engine in good shape. I would recommend a good engine code-reader. Difficulty reaching spark plugs means trip to garage is a must for routine tune up.
Favorite Features
Analog clock, average MPG calculator. great handling. V6 very smooth. Excellent top-end. Solid Bose audio system. 18 gallon, plastic (aka no-rust) gas tank. 31+ MPG highway, 27 city. 5-speed manual clutch still going strong w/161k miles. Dashboard controls and readouts well-placed.
Suggested Improvements
If you don't care about looks, go with the steel wheels. If you still notice slight shake in steering while going over bumps you could probably use the suspension upgrade. Changing just the ball-joint is not an option as it's welded to the control arm.

Fun little car
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 2 Dr SE Turbo Convertible
Review
This car is great. I have had a BMW, a Mustang and other fun cars but when it comes to good looks that fit an adult, good solid OEM engine, driving fun and a lot of appeal this car really fit the mark. The car is 12 years old and looks perfect, the paint is perfect, the engine runs like a charm, and the seats are in great condition. Very little road noise even compaired to some non-conv.
Favorite Features
Style, performance.
Suggested Improvements
Cup holders, these ones are not worth the space.

12 years - still goin' strong

1995 Saab 900 2 Dr SE Convertible
Review
This car has been a daily driver since we bought it new in '95. We have had no major problems and the car has seen tough duty here in the snow belt. Handles well in the winter, the convertible is great in the summer, good stereo, climate control. etc. It is expensive to repair: we replaced some AC parts and the tonneau cover motor, but fortunately repairs have been few and far between.
Favorite Features
Convertible top, traction control, stereo, reliability.

Fun to drive. Not good for more than 2 people because of the space. Had to replace the clutch. Great gas mileage. Good control. It's not all that reliable. Would not buy again.

Fun to drive. Nice looking. Gas mileage.

More durable.

A Tough Decision
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 2 Dr SE Turbo Hatchback
Review
The two most notable features of this car are its fun to drive factor and its reliabililty. This car is extremely fun to drive; despite the vague transmission, handling and power make for a satisfying experience. Steering is too light for some, appreciated on long hauls, however. Reliability was too poor to consider buying another Saab. Pulleys in the engine designed of plastic break frequently, and often without warning-a disconcerting and unnecessary feature. Compact size makes nights on the town difficult - back seat passengers in the coupe will hate you for the awkward and humiliating entry/exit. Gas mileage is excellent.
Favorite Features
Gas mileage, power, handling, unique look and design to all components.
Suggested Improvements
Reliability, rethink rear seat access in coupe design.

Sad to see it go
Vehicle
1995 Saab 900 4 Dr S Hatchback
Review
My first Saab was a 98000 mile 900S for my 17 yr old son. He thought he was the coolest kid in town, and my wife and I loved to drive it too! Unfortunately, he slid into a curb and tore up the underside of the car. What caused us to total it was the air bags- the dash has to be replaced, too, a $2000+ repair by itself. We are heart broken! Enjoy one while/if you can.
Favorite Features
Heated front seats, one of a kind look, analog clock, solid drive and sound, safety features.
Suggested Improvements
Security feature over the top: if locked w/ remote, can't use key to unlock.
