Over time the plastic covering over the headlamps can become foggy (especially true of cars that spend a lot of time outside because of the harsh sun exposure). This cloudiness can absolutely affect your low beam performance (please dont drive with your high beams on :) ). You definitely shouldn't buy new headlight assemblies. I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 2.0t and i ordered and HID kit for the lighting...... The regular H7 bulb doesnt fit with the Xentec kit that i got.... What size bulb fits properly???? Anything helps people... PLEASE HELP!!!!

I'm on the negotiations step of getting as used 9-3. Car was advertised for 17,000. I was told I could buy it for that price, or pay an extra for the "Saab Certification." Glad you like the 9-5, but if you out running a V-8 Mustang, then they were not trying hard or it was really a V-6 made to look like a V-8. 1999 - 2004 Mustangs run 14.0 flat in the quarter out of the box. Upscale Subaru?
I always thought Subaru needed an upscale division like Nissan/Infiniti and Toyota/Lexus. GM could preempt that space if it offers AWD with all it's Saab models. I like my 5-speed-manual 2004 9-5 Aero, but I'd like it a lot better with AWD (or XWD or whatever). Burt

No matter what you buy, you just get less for trade-in period. Try to sell it privately if you can and get more money for your car. It's possible to find a good SS convertible in the low 20s and the OG vert in the mid teens. If the diffence is less than 5K I would go for the newer one. There is a reason your neigbour is selling the 9-3. I am just returning my 2004 conv lease. Very poor reliability and bad service. SAAB is not what used to be. The SAAB dealerships are basically Cadiallac dealership. The brakes need replacing very 20,000 and dealership charged me $1000 bucks for all four brakes. The worst part was that Saab's so-called "roadside assistance program" would only tow the car to the nearest dealer (even though my dealer was probably no farther than third closest) and would not provide a loaner. Hi, just a bit of information I learned the hard way. My 2004 ARC Conv(18K Miles). wouldn't start after having run perfectly. AAA couldn't jump start it, Saab roadside assistance came by to tow car, put jumpers on and it started Put battery on charge overnight, Sun AM it wont start again. The 2003 and 2004 Saab 9-3's had tons of problems, so the dealership told me. I purchased an 06 9-3 2.0T have close to 2000 miles on it with no problems at all. This car is amazing and so fun to drive. Realiabilty isn't an issue so far.

The deal was a new car. It was not a pleasant transaction which was closed at the end of September. I do think you can get a simlar or better deal, even the manager and the salesman said they couldn't do it better than that. I tried to order a 2005 9-3 Linear through the military program, but they deleted auto-climate as an option, no more head lamp washers as part of the cold weather, body sills are not available in body color (only black), and no fog lights. To many changes so I bought a 2004 Arc they had available. Everything except xenon, park assist, and sport wheel package for $29,700.

Particularly if it is merely a speaker problem, a manufacturer committed to quality a) would never have put them into any model year production, and b) WOULD have retrofitted the vehicles with the better speakers, at least for those people who complained. After picking up my 9-3 yesterday I was told that somehow the brake pads that were used on the 2003 had somehow made it on to my 2004.
