    I had the same problem and gave up. I cut the rusted line out and spliced in a piece of 3/8 inch steel tubing. It worked like a champ. No issues so far.

    I've found my leak in the high pressure line, have the hose disconnected, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the line. I've removed the reservoir, battery, even the radiator reservoir, the battery plate, cleared most wires, but I can't figure out how to wiggle the hard line out from under the welded metal bracket that supports the battery.     The not starting is the neutral switch... It cost me about 375.00 to fix it... or for the switch itself...

    My wife has a 2005 9-3 Arc Convertible with 60k miles. Mobil 1 has been used exclusively, it was European Delivered and has had no issues except the power steering pump.

    I also have a 2000 9-3 and the turbo bearings burned out at about 50,000 km. It seems that it is a design flaw. The turbo is too close to the exhaust manifold and it gets too hot. In 2000, GM did not specify synthetic oil but it did in 2001. By the time I found out it was too late for my turbo. Synthetic oil is the answer for engine ... Read More

    Synthetic oil changed at 5k mile intervals. I think the turbo is cooled by the oil, not the coolant.

    After bringing the car home from Austin it has 34,800 miles. I like it; it gobbles highwy miles with ease. At 65MPH rpm is barely over 2000. I did not measure exact gas mileage but it had to be 30 or better with average spped close to 80MPH. My wife noticed it remided her of volkswagen she drove long time ago. Now let's hope it will hold up mechanically.

    Jeff, We just purchased a Saab through IDS and financed it with a conventional car loan from our Credit Union. We had to wait for Saab to provide us the VIN number to finalize the loan. Three days after paying for the car, we received the $2000.00 check from Saab in the mail. Scheduled to pick up the car in Germany, second week of June.

With the GM discount, 4000 bonus cash, and a $2000 demo discount and assuming a $33,000 msrp, the selling price would be $25,000.     The 2003 and 2004 Saab 9-3's had tons of problems, so the dealership told me. I purchased an 06 9-3 2.0T have close to 2000 miles on it with no problems at all. This car is amazing and so fun to drive. Realiabilty isn't an issue so far.

    The filter is located on top of the climate unit housing underneath the water deflector before the ventilation fan. You have to remove the wiper assembly.

    I got the offer from GM for up to 2000 payoff for my current leased vehicle. I am now looking at 9-3 or 9-5 24 month lease with 10000 miles. what are residuals and money factor on these so I can go make a deal?     Also, many times the 2000 base model doesn't have the body colored door protector, or bumper rub strips, or the nicer kick panels under the doors. The SE has a better stereo with 6 speakers too, the base only 4 speakers, so there should be speakers in the both the door and on the dash if it's an SE

    An SE would have dual power front seats,climate control A.C.,Walnut Dash,Memory seat retrieval.These are absolute differences from a base model.If it lacks these features it CAN'T be an SE.With the exception of the walnut dash as a dealer installed accessory,none of these were available on a base 9-3 model

    Well, in 2000 CR recommended the 9-3 because its reliability was passing. It got an "Average" grade, which isn't too shabby. But I think that after 100K miles Saabs tend to bring trouble.     I do not know what the 2006 prices are for European Delivery, but the 2005 prices on a Saab Arc SS were close to a 13% discount. Saab also gives you $2000 for travel expenses, airport, train station or ferry terminal pickup and provides a room and meal for two at Ronnum Manor. We returned last month after getting a 2005 Arc Convertible.

    There were a few issues with the 2000 model year, mostly annoyances. I recommend you look at the 2001 model year. GM had more play in how Saab worked, not to mention components are a little cheaper. I have a 2001 9-3 SE and have had virtually no problems with mine. Are you looking for automatic or manual?

    The incentives for purchasing is the 0% (for 36, 48, or 60 months) or $2500 (Linear), $3000 (Arc), $3500 (Vector) cash back. The lease incentives were $1000 on Linear, and $2000 on Arc/Vector. I know the 0% financing is still effective, however I believe the other incentives ended June 30th, unless Saab has extended them.
