2005 Saab 9-2X Linear 4dr Sport Wagon (2.5L 4cyl 5M)
If Beauty is only skin deep, this is the car it drives! Saab did a good job on the exterior styling, but underneath it all is a good ol' dependable Subaru. Interior trim is definitely econo-grade. I agree - this car is FUN to drive! The engine likes to rev, pulls strong from 3K on up to redline. Not much low-end torque. The 5-spd shifter is a bit notchy, but I'm getting used to it. AWD is great. No wheel spins in the Florida rain, you just GO. Fantastic brakes. One last thing - HEY SAAB, please fire the product manager and interior designer who picked the "parchment" seat color and don't hire them back until they can get coffee, ketchup and mud stains out of that fabric!
Awesome AWD, ABS, 4-W disc brakes, great performance and handling and still get upper 20's mpg. With GM promo and rebate, got it for less than invoice on a Subaru RS Wagon or Outback Sport (and I got the moonroof). How many "station wagons" are this FUN to drive?!
Seats are firm, but flat. Need lumbar support and thigh support. Footwell is small and pedals are too close together. For premium price/market, needs better fabrics/trim. Should include center armrest support, rear cupholders and rear storage tray. Radio with MP3/USB2 inputs - and TINTED WINDOWS!
