2006 Dodge ChargerWinner: Dodge Charger

Chrysler scored big last year with the arrival of its 300 sedan, and although the Dodge Charger may be a year behind, we don't consider it a second-place finisher. The Charger shares many of the same attributes that continue to make the 300 a winner, including unique styling and an optional 340-horsepower V8 Hemi engine on the Charger R/T model. Add the Road/Track Performance Group to the R/T and you've got a fast sedan that leaves competitors like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in the dust. It may not be the two-door muscle car you remember from the '60s, but the new Dodge Charger is still a big Dodge with big attitude.

Honorable Mention: Subaru Legacy

Subaru has spent the past decade building its reputation for capable all-wheel-drive crossovers like the popular Outback and Forester. Today, the Japanese automaker is working on its performance rep, the latest Legacy is racing in that direction. Not only does the Legacy 2.5 GT Limited now offer a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine rated for 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, the cabin has been upgraded to reflect the increase in performance as well. A slick driver's cockpit, including Subaru's first DVD-based navigation system, combines with improved handling characteristics to make this the most satisfying Legacy ever.
