Most Wanted Large Truck
Winner: Nissan
Titan
Nissan's first venture into the full-size truck market pays off big as the Titan
has the size and capabilities of its domestic competitors along with a distinctive
exterior and a raft of innovative features. Available in King Cab and crew cab
models, the Titan's interior is both spacious and functional, with ample storage
and plenty of passenger room. Its standard 305-horsepower V8 and five-speed automatic
transmission deliver solid around-town performance and impressive towing ability.
Additional features like a factory-applied spray-in bedliner, adjustable tie-down
anchors, side curtain airbags and optional stability control make this a full-size
truck that's hard to ignore.
Honorable Mention: Dodge
Ram 1500/2500/3500
Versatility is a hallmark of the trucks that comprise Dodge's Ram lineup; the
Ram excels both as a work truck and as family transportation. On the outside,
the truck boasts singular styling; inside, accommodations are spacious and comfy.
Ride and handling belie the truck's colossal dimensions; close your eyes and you
could almost be led to believe you were riding in a sedan. For those who want
to up the muscle quotient, a 5.7-liter, 345-horsepower Hemi V8 is available. It's
easy to see why we find the Ram worthy; it does a lot, while compromising little.
