Most Wanted Midsize SUV Over $45,000

Land Rover Range Rover Winner: Land Rover Range Rover

Redesigned for 2003, the Range Rover navigated its way over a rocky terrain filled with nameplates like BMW and Lexus to earn this top Most Wanted spot. Through a combination of heritage and technology, Land Rover has delivered a world-class SUV. As expected, it delivers outstanding off-road performance. But something of a surprise is its exquisitely detailed and luxurious interior. There are also plenty of the latest features, including a voice-activated navigation system and an entertainment system. If a taste for adventure lies in your future, what better way to blast into the bush than in an image-building and fully capable Range Rover?

Honorable Mention: Lexus GX 470

All new for 2003, the Lexus GX 470 is a midsize luxury SUV that combines excellent off-road performance with the latest luxury and safety features. Based on the new Toyota 4Runner, the GX has a standard 235-hp 4.7-liter V8 engine. Inside there are three rows of seating with room for eight people. As expected of a Lexus, there is an abundance of luxury items, such as leather seating, bird's eye maple wood trim and an available Mark Levinson premium audio system. Though less expensive than the larger Lexus LX 470, the GX equals it in just about every way. This is certainly a great choice for families with active lifestyles.
