2006 RX-7
With all the research and development costs that went into the RX-8, it's expected that Mazda will try to get more bang for its buck by releasing a more traditional two-door coupe version based on the same architecture. Lighter weight and an even more rigid body would make an excellent adversary to the 350Z.

Also on the drawing board is an even smaller coupe based on the RX-8 structure that would slot between the RX-7 and the Miata.
