2003 Toyota Sequoia

"Sequoia is great to drive. Engine/transmission much smoother than in my '98 Navigator. Big inside yet feels smaller to drive. Very quiet. Have had problems with rear window, interior plastic pieces, terrible design for rear controlled AC. Overall a great SUV, but without modifications would not repurchase." — tcj20202000, Oct. 7, 2002

"We purchased a black Limited 4WD model and have loved all 28,000 miles we've put on it. It's traveled cross country and it shines at high speeds. This SUV will creep up to 90 mph so easily it's frightening. The interior is great — get the gray leather — climate control is excellent, as is JBL. My only gripe would be, make the front seat slide back a bit more for taller drivers. I'm 6-foot-3 and I can find a more comfortable position in my Ford Expedition or Volvo XC. Also, the steering wheel feels like it was designed for girl hands — very small, makes my hands cramp up. Those are my only suggestions. We have loved this car and would recommend it to anyone." — Ace5, March 10, 2003

"Other than Honda, been waiting for full-size 'ute that wasn't Land Cruiser price range. Got Ltd 2wd loaded minus side airbags, $41.5K for my wife, only time I got to drive after bringing it home was once a week. I love it, she loves it more, that equals that I get to drive once a week. Got so fed up, found a used 2001 SR5 leather, 15K miles for $31.5K. (I didn't believe it either.) Now we are a two-Sequoia family. I am smiling now. Almost opted for Tahoe/Yukon. Knew of Toyota quality. The Seq just gets all types of looks! Hers is white, mine is Thunder Gray/Champagne trim." — Hla26v, April 12, 2002

2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

"We traded in our 1997 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab for a 2003 Chevy Tahoe and it has been such a pleasure to steer a truck with this much ease! The Silverado was a bear to turn, park or just maneuver through a parking lot. The Tahoe's redesigned steering is a hot item. It handles better than our BMW! We are really pleased with its smooth ride and handling." — TCVICKIE, Dec. 28, 2002

"Love it! Carefully consider what else you can get for the same price, and you'd have to be crazy to buy anything else. Extreme value. Performance is excellent, extremely safe. I drove it across the Mojave Desert and loved every minute of it. Dealership was courteous and easy to deal with, and is a very strong credit to the Chevrolet name. Their service, and the Chevy Tahoe is why real Americans still buy American." — Robert from Ariz., Feb. 15, 2003

"We purchased the 2003 Tahoe LT in October of 2002. It is now March 2003 and the truck has had to be repaired TWICE! AND to top it off we have to take it back to have a part put in it that had to be ordered. I am totally disgusted after spending that much money for something that is UNRELIABLE!" 2003 Ford Expedition

"Ford really got it right. This thing looks great and thrashes the Yukon I traded on all fronts. It has more legroom in the third row than the Yukon. It handles much better and has no 'roll' when taking turns. It handles more like an import sedan than an SUV. They say the Yukon has more 'punch.' Well I can't tell. This Expedition is just as quick and has much more torque than the Vortec." — AvMc, April 7, 2003

"Our $33.5K Eddie Bauer 5.4L 2WD model offers plenty of power and handles very much like a car, little hint of the 5,600 pounds around you. I considered the 4.6L but recommend the bigger V8. The $700 extra and 1 mpg sacrifice are worth it for all but a few drivers. MPG over 8K miles has been 14-17, averaging 16 C/H. Ergonomically correct for this 6-foot-2 driver throughout, this is one of Ford's best ever, drive it and you'll agree (I don't work for them)." Davant, Feb. 11, 2003

"Admitted Ford fan with a strong bias toward Ford products. Though not the strongest engine (5.4) on the market, still very competent and solid performer. I own a 2000 F-150 and am amazed how much better the turning radius is on the Eddie Bauer Expedition. Sound system is superb. Heated and air conditioned seats give a new meaning to comfort. Appears to be well built with not a single problem found in the first four months (knock on wood) ." — Spyglass, March 15, 2003
