Re: high performance turbos [blackcactus1]
by jimveta on Fri May 27 01:19:54 PDT 2005
Which company is this? Is this lagless turbo a VGT? If so, are you using an existing design or model like from Holset's? Or is this something like Garrett's hydraulically driver compressor? What sizes/specs will you offer? And while I agree with the higher peak effeciency of the larger turbo when spun up to its range, I don't think you can eliminate the need for an intercooler.. .. while I know many will think them ideal for smaller engines, I think there may be an even bigger market for larger engines! Simply because I think most in that crowd already care or are more conscious about power delivery to justify the extra cost :D
Re: EVO vs. STI vs. SRT-4? Want to Run 11's....What should I buy? [paisan]
by andysautosport on Wed Mar 19 10:39:01 PDT 2008
Mike I totally disagree. I think the Sti or the EVO will definitely get you into the 11's with minimal amounts of money and you can still look good doing it. SRT-4's downfall is it's front engine, front wheel drive setup. In a drag race, rear wheel drive and all wheel drive cars rule supreme, front wheel drive is fighting against physics. Get the EVO, get a Garrett GT30R or a GReddy T-67 25G and call it a day. We sell all parts for the Sti/Evo/SRT-4, visit us at Andys Auto Sport My name is Jay, I would be more than glad to help you out, message me through Carspace as well!

Allen, I've got to admire your loyalty. You must bleed Ford blue. I feel much the same about my AiResearch/Garrett products. However, they've been pretty/really good continuously since the '50's. Hang in there (as if. . .). I'm out, but it's clear that you're not and never will be.

As for your cirp. Check the turbo. Garrett vnt turbos are known to have the VNT fins hang up. This is usually a sign of the turbo going bad. First pull the hoses off the turbo and check the shaft for any play. If some is found take it right back to the dealer while still under warranty. If it is out of warranty order a rebuild kit and rebuild it. As long as the housing is good it is rebuildable. Try a detriot diesel or garrett turbo supplier to get the parts. Jeep should have them also.
Offensive

They'll be looking for an offensive coordinator since it looks like Garrett is going to accept a head coaching job. Personally I like Jason but I don't think he's ready for a head coaching position. Look at what happened with Norv Turner. Great offensive mind and when he left the 'Boys to be a head coach he was terrible. Coaches are supposed to be leaders and motivate players. He's quite intellegent and I hope he stays in Dallas and finish what he began. If he leaves I don't think the team will have a good season in 08. Mack :shades:
Re: Why the Cowboys lost. [jipster]
by mackabee on Mon Jan 14 15:15:29 PST 2008
Jipster, they lost this game back in November after they beat the Packers and got homefield advantage and number one seed. They overlooked the last 4 games of the season then looked past the playoffs to the Super Bowl. Unlike Jimmy Johnson who called Bill Parcells for advice going into the playoffs and Bill told Jimmy to take one game at a time. He said "The next game is the most important game of your life." or words to that effect. The players focused on the next game not the following or future games. I think some heads are going to roll in the coaching staff. Garrett didn't look like his usual self, maybe thinking about the head coaching job in Baltimore. Wade Phillips is just a puppet for JJones. I have never been impressed by his style. A little bit to loose and not enought discipline. The receiving corp should go back to school. I can't believe how many easy catches they dropped and didn't run their routes completely. The offensive line was pathetic in the second half, no wonder Romo was pissed after the same guy kept getting through and rushing him. In the end it came to who executed best and the Giants took the game. They were a better team in this game and deserved to win. I keep telling Mack Jr.: "It's only a game, it's only a game." "Next season we'll be ok." ;)
