I got a very good deal tonight from Grace Honda in San Bruno. The internet man, Aladdin, gave me a quote (good for the month) for my 08 CRV EX-L 2wd w/NAVI at 25,630 (out the door 28,177). He even threw in some dealer added extras. No hassles, no pressure to buy accessories or extended warranties. Business guy was easy to work with. Total transaction took about two hours. The down side is that their inventory is on the slim side and I don't know if you'll get a good price for something they have to hunt down. Well worth the 30 mile trip across the bay. We just bought a Prius, Package 2, from Koon's Toyota in Arlington, Virginia, for $22,567 plus tax and tags. This was 8 hours ago. After hearing so many horror stories about car dealerships, we were amazed at our good experience. I can only speak for the salesmen we dealt with, who were all honest, reliable, knowledgable and genuinely *nice.* We were having a hard time finding a Red Prius, Package 2 in NJ, and this dealership located one, gave one of the best prices we found anywhere (we negotiated at the end of the month, which is generally better), had an accurate estimate of the time it would take to arrive (said 1-4 days, it arrived in 2 days), and the salespeople were never pushy. If you go here, I would ask for one of the following salespeople: Aladdin, Ali, or Gansori. Even the finance guy was on the up-and-up. If you go soon, tell them the NJ couple who just bought the red Prius sent you!

Joey, babe. Listen. A. My tiers are my opinion, and you have yet to show these can be refutable. If you can show how Hyundai is anything higher than 3rd Tier, go right ahead. Be my guest. But you need sales volume to get to Tier 1, and most in Tier 2 out-produce Hyundai, and have some brand equity to speak of. I'll cut you a deal. If Hyundai, with Kia, even though we aren't talking about Kia, can get 5% of the market, you can go to 2nd Tier. Fair enough? B. How is Hyundai a threat to 'Yota? Honda? Explain. You haven't done that yet. Getting some lip service when a reporter asks a question doesn't prove anything. Show how Toyota or Honda have changed to accomodate this new challenger. Do people WANT a Hyundai, honestly? I know many who WANT Honda or Toyota. That's why sales for them are up, not flat. ;) C. Sales have leveled-off, and I have proven that. And new models haven't spurred sales. That's textbook tread ware. Even new tires isn't helping! :P I've provided just as many facts, and you have been as stubborn, if not more. I call a spade a spade. Toyota is on top. Honda and Nissan secure the 2nd level, and Hyundai is climbing, but obviously is starting to have trouble. Let's bring in BMW and Lexus for some help. Help! :surprise: DrFill

DVD players do accept more than just Aladdin cartoons and PG rated children movies. There are many fine educational programs/shows available on dvd that are both educational and entertaining. Test and challenge your kids, during and after their viewing, by asking questions and their thoughts on what they have viewed/learned. T.V doesn't have to be used solely to turn your kids into catatonic zombies, just to keep them quiet during short OR long trips. ;)

Road trips when I was little consisted of me in my car/booster seat with a map in hand...At that point I liked to count numbers. Soon enough I was reading maps and answering my parents' questions about what road we should take next (for educational purposes of course, they knew where we were going :P ). Now I know no less than five different routes to the coast (we go every 2-4 weeks), and 3 ways home from school (there just aren't that many!). I'd reccommend any parent putting a free rest-area map in their young'uns hands, even if they just color on it. They will soon learn how to go places, and learn a lot more than they will watching the "Aladdin" DVD on the way.

I would think that any cold air intake that uses an oiled media as a filter would create the same results as the K & N filters. If you search the web, you will find scores of real life gains using K & N type filters. These gains are minimal, however, in all but the most spirited of driving. I really thought they would help my mileage and performance, but now I wish I wouldn't have ever installed them. You may have different results...I'm just one guy. I do know for a fact, however, that AC Delco filters have been proven in several different tests to filter better than the other filters out there.
