Re: 09 Pilot Touring AWD [tosaboy]

I have sent out quotes to other dealers & then knocked the price down to about 35,950 if I want to drive a bit. Locally (green bay) they wanted about 36,400 i think. I might not even go with one of these. Probably the favorite car I tried, but the $$ is still a little steep. Was hoping a cash rebate offer would come out soon, might influence my decision. Any local information you could contribute might help.

Bay Area Touring W/Out Pax Prices

Well I recetly went through the RFQ process for a Honda Odyssey Touring no Pax and thought I'd share the #'s that I received in case anyone in the Bay is looking to buy (PM me and I can send you the actual email/quote dealer etc...). I ended up buying a 08 Sequoia Platinum but that's for a different forum. I found that there are not very many Touring models in the Bay. Talking to dealers it appears that Bay folks do not buy very many Touring therefore the dealers I spoke with do not tend to stock more than a few at a time. At the same time I asked about 09's and was told the 09's would cost approx 4K more than the #'s I was getting on the 08's (not that I believe that based on what happend last year when the 08's came out). These were quoted with .9 Percent for 36mo. Lowest Quote W/ Desitnation was $33,900K Average Quote W/ Destination was 34,500K Not too many colors to choose from - lots of nimbus and the green/gray color (forgot code/name). I was struggling with buying 08 vs 09 since we are within weeks of 09's... I figured that since there were not many Touring's at dealers that 09's would quickly (by Nov/Dec) be back in line with 44 to 45K price point. In any event I came very close to buying a Touring but in the end got cold feet (Could not make the practical choice - BIG V8SUV vs Great People Hauling and Fuel Economy Van). Perhap's if 09's were already out and deals were in the same range I would have gone the other way. Representative Quote - This is for a 2008 Odyssey Touring w/o Pax. Selling Price: $34,750.00 Accessories: $0.00 F&I Products: $0.00 Sales Tax: $2,871.41 Trade Prior Balance: $0.00 Doc Prep Fee: $55.00 CA Tire fee: $8.75 CA New Vehicle Licensing Fee: $291.00 CA County Fee: $10.00 TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE: $37,986.16

I was hovering at 65 or less on I-94 the other day returning to Green Bay from Chicago in modest Saturday traffic. There do seem to be quite a few cops on that road. Not sure which side of the Cheddar Curtain you are talking about but I do know that Wisconsin police have a reputation for pulling over cars with Illinois plates at the drop of a hat.

On the Edens Expressway part going south after entering IL a few days before that, I was lucky to be hovering at 20. Gotta love road construction season. :shades:

The West is a bit more spread out and the higher speeds seem appropriate. I just got back from the Midwest where I drove from Green Bay to the UP (Lake Superior) and then south to the outskirts of Chicago and back to Green Bay. Speed limits there were 55 to 65 and going over 65 wasn't too comfortable in most spots. 60 would have worked ok on the four lanes there. Too many deer on the back roads to feel ok going much more than 55 - we had 4 trot across the road in front of us on one stretch.
