Listen up guys. As Edmunds Scholars and car gurus, see if you can answer this question: Who is Jesse Toprak in the world of cars? First correct answer gets a free t-shirt from Mack. Here's your answer: Jesse Toprak is the Executive Director of Industry Analysis for Edmunds. Toprak leads a department focused on analyzing automotive market data to power both the Edmunds Web sites and the market trend products Edmunds supplies to the automotive industry. Toprak joined Edmunds in November 2000 as Senior Industry Analyst. Previously, Toprak spent seven years running several franchised dealerships in the Midwest. Toprak earned his MBA from Northern Illinois University after studying at the London School of Economics, Beloit College and Marmara University for his B.A.. Where's my T-shirt :shades: GP

One thing that I always noticed on the show is that I never saw them have any import vehicles listed as prizes. I didn't watch every show, so there may have been a few episodes where they slipped one in. They still use domestics only on the show. They just slightly changed their definition of 'domestic'. They're very careful to mention that every Honda they've given away lately is from Honda of America and built in Ohio. They also quit giving away Chevy Aveos, presumably because they're built in Korea for the most part. Going slightly closer to on-topic...I can't help but laugh every time I drive to/from work with these gas prices. Seems most of the stations in Rockford are selling gas for $4.27 today, but the ones I go past in South Beloit are $3.99. And it's not a gradual shift between the two either...at one spot halfway between, there's a station selling for $3.99 and the next one down, a mile away, is $4.27. Yeah, I haven't bought any gas in Rockford lately.

I have a 2007 EL EB. The sticker priced out at 52K. I ran it under X-Plan with a returning customer rebate and got it down to 46K. Wrote up a 2 yr lease with 40K miles and it came to $890 per mo. with nothing down.

35mpg is doable highway
by b3nut on Mon Jul 10 18:20:50 PDT 2006
with the automatic...I've gotten up to 36 with mine. I get around 34 at 65, 36 if I keep it under 60. If I drive like a bat outta Toledo and run 80 for good stretches I'll get 31 or 32. EPA highway on the automatic is 38, 35 for the stick. But EPA highway ratings are based on an average test speed of 48mph, and I'd hazard most of us have a higher average than that. :D I only got 28 going through Chicago and Rockford the last time I drove up that way though, I hit the traffic at the worst time. The last tollbooth just south of Beloit was backed up all the way to Rockford! And it was too hot to open the windows and shut the engine off, I needed the AC. Todd in Beerbratistan
