What a great deal on that car! I have a similar 2007, and you have snagged a great value with your new car! Enjoy!

Where I bought the '08 Civic LX: i live in the bay area also, but i negotiated the '08 lx deal for my parents who live in richmond, va. Strategy: my strategy was probably similar to others on this website--i just asked a bunch of dealers (local and a bit further away) to beat my previous lowest price until... as far as buying with cash, i'm not sure if that helps or not, although we did buy cash. you might try emailing dealers in socal, just to see if it might be worthwhile to buy the car there. or, if you get a great deal from one of them, you can use that price to leverage a better deal locally--this is what i did/do. Best Honda Dealer in the Bay Area: last year, i bought a new accord in the bay area and thought i got a good deal through grace honda in san bruno (23.5K for a V-6 with NAV). they even beat the socal dealerships i shopped around at and overall, it was a pretty good buying experience. also, i think i remember a dealership in the east bay had good prices, but i don't remember which dealer it was. Worst Honda Dealers (at least in pricing): ANDERSON HONDA--probably the worst prices i found in the...world. ok, maybe not the world, but... Stevens Creek--Meh! Mike Anderson--priced like they're in burlingame. oh...they are in burlingame! Any other questions?

I have a 2007 hemi sport, I am experiencing the same problems that you are having. My dad and i have bought 5 new dodges in the last three years and this has been the first bad issue. The dealer keeps making things up like the tires are not mounted proper,Bad roads and the list keeps going, One would think that if you pay $38,000 for a truck they would try and make you happy. :confuse:
Re: 2002 HL excessive oil consumption [irishcasey]
by rodonnell on Thu Sep 25 06:47:02 PDT 2008
Irishcasey. I dont think you have a PCV failure, however a new PCV is inexpensive and may be worth a try. Simple as replacing a spark plug to replace. The smoke and excessive oil consumption concern me and lead me to think you have a valve guide problem. Smoking tailpipe at idle is a dead giveaway. The oil consumption, while alarming, is not excessive for an engine with bad guides. A vacuum test will reveal for sure if you have bad valve guides. Plug a vacuum gauge into any available below throttle port and let the engine idle. A sound engine will show between 15-19 inches. A vibrating reading indicates bad valve guides. Valve guide replacement is expensive, essentially involves an engine top end, or head rebuild. In an otherwise sound vehicle, probably worth the expense. You could have bad rings, but I doubt that, as you would be seeing smoke out the tailpipe all the time. You can test for bad rings, as well as bad valves amongst other things, by performing a cylinder leakdown test. If your vacuum test is normal, I would follow up with a compression test, then a leak down test. Failing these tests would result in a total engine rebuild, or replacement. More expensive, and might not be worth the cost. Good luck. Ray

I understand. I searched out a bit farther, because I travel for business a lot. I have no problem shopping cars in Lexington, Ky., Pittsburgh, Pa, or Richmond, Va.. In 03, I bought a new car in Lexington, KY. because they beat the local dealer by $6500. Drove about 170 miles out to get it. The Aura is a great car, but, the ones around you are no bargain. The Sonata sounds like your best choice. I looked at a new one in March, but, the best deal I could get was $2K higher than the Saturn. Good Luck OldCEM
