Pantheon of the Automotive Gods
by lemko on Wed Aug 29 11:28:42 PDT 2007
If of were to have a pantheon of the Automotive Gods it would consist of: 1. Karl Benz 2. Henry Ford 3. William Durant 4. Walter P. Chrysler 5. Alfred Sloan 6. Harley Earl 7. Enzo Ferrari 8. Ferdinand Porsche 9. Ransom E. Olds 10. Henry Leland 11. Charles Nash 12. Louis Chevrolet 13. John and Horace Dodge 14. Sochiro Honda Then there would be separate temples for lesser dieties: Temple of General Motors: 1. Charles Kettering 2. William Mitchell 3. Zora Arkus Duntov 4. Edward N. Cole 5. Bunkie Knudsen 6. John DeLorean 7. David Holls Temple of Ford: 1. Henry Ford II 2. Carroll Shelby 3. Edsel Ford 4. Lee Iacocca 5. Elwood Engel Temple of Chrysler: 1. Fred Zeder 2. Owen Skelton 3. Carl Breer 4. Virgil Exner 5. K.T. Keller Temple of AMC: 1. George Mason 2. George Romney 3. Richard Teague Consequently, there should be an automotive Hades. The guys most deserving of this dishonor are: 1. Roger Smith 2. Jacques Nasser 3. Wayne Cherry 4. William Christopher 5. Harry Bennett
2007 Sonata Limited spotted
by acurattle on Thu Jun 15 11:59:05 PDT 2006
Two seagulls, Gertrude and Heathcliff, are talking. Gertrude say, "Spotted any of the new Sonatas yet?". :D (Props to Red Skelton for that one). A blue '07 Limited is parked outside my place of employment as I write this. It has a small 'Limited' badge on the lower left of the back, below the trunk lid, and it has the chrome trim pieces in the center of the front grill. Beige leather interior, climate control, sun roof, audio controls on the wheel, and all else looks pretty much identical with current LX, AFAIK. The 17" wheels may be slightly different; I'm not that familiar with the '06 ones, so not sure on that.

I have a 9, 6, and 5month old. The 5 has been plenty big enough. It does require some planning if you need space for things other than 5 to six people. The concern with rear-end collisions injuring passengers in the 3rd row is a valid one, although it is possible to nearly eliminate that risk.

Loren , hey Jackie Glesons dead, Red Skelton too. Now we get MTV and fake realitity shows where people can eat bugs on camera for their 15 minutes of fame. Things are different, but not always better. Motorized vehicles are going to have to change. If not for depleating oil, then perhaps cleaner air and global warming. Who Knows the truth? Many US familys have 2,3,or 4 cars now. Roads and infrastructure are already a mess, and we keep buying more. Hybrids are not "the" answer, but they are most likely a step toward the next answer.Hydrogen, perhaps? Our fuel is too cheap, but that's the very reason our economy has grown like it has for 100 years. Yeah, things will be changing and chances are we won't like it. For starters Toyota is already the new GM , and GM is the new Mitsubishi. Bill C.
Re: snow driving [siiamom]

I grew up in new england and live in central ohio. I've had the 5 for two snowfalls and have had zero problem getting up my unplowed driveway or around my unplowed neighborhood. BTW, the manual mode supports starting in 2nd gear for icy conditions. I found that starting in 2nd and using a light foot will overcome the shortcomings of the stock tires. Of course, I accepted long ago that my driving habits need to change with the weather.

It seems that many Dodge Caravans come with tinted windows.
