'02 Red Trailblazer - RIP
by wharthog69 on Tue Feb 19 20:10:31 PST 2008
 sigh. My very reliable, very low maintenance '02 Trailblazer with 175,000 miles died on the way home from a work trip last week. It doggedly traveled 5 miles and up a steep mountain with no oil pressure to a service station near Shady Springs, WV to make sure I got somewhere safe and warm. The engine seized just as I threw it into neutral pulling onto the lot. It was 20 degrees, 9:00 at night, with the wind blowing hard. I'm gonna miss it. I never realized how emotionally attached I was to the thought of snapping it's 200,000 mile pictures and showing them to everyone. I guess it just won't happen now. Anybody doing anything interesting with broken Trailblazers these days? Engine swaps?
Going from Honda to Toyota
by ck90211 on Sun Oct 08 10:23:01 PDT 2006
I bought both Honda and Toyota just this past year (both new), and I found Honda dealers to be equally shady when it comes to hot cars, like HCH and Civic Si. All dealers, not juts Toyota/Honda, are shady when it comes to hot cars. Best to get a hand full of quotes online before going to any dealers (to test drive). That is your only leverage on a hot car. I think you should be able to get some discounts on Prius now with gas being cheap, and tax credit halved. The dealers are still sleazy/shady, but maybe not as arrogant as before. As for Touring vs. Base, I too was trying to decide, before Sept. 30. I ended up buying a base, because it was cheaper, plus some NoCal sales person told me that touring is a less comfy ride on highway and surface streets (make sense because bigger wheels/tires usually do not absorb bumps/expansion joints too well). So far so good. it's a great ride on SoCal freeways and surface streets. A lot of people bad mouth about Prius' wobbly steering at highway speed. I have not sensed any of that on my 07, not sure if it's because Toyota replaced tires (my 07 comes with Goodyear Integra's), strengthend the body, or just people bad mouthing hybrids. Best to test drive (or rent one) to form your own opinion. At $2.60/gallon gas, I still feel great above my Prius. So I know I will be even happier next spring-summer. You will too. Good luck.
Atlanta Sienna Dealer Issues - Beware
by gsjiv on Mon Jun 05 09:05:14 PDT 2006
Sandy Springs Toyota was so shady I cant fathom it. Wouldnt put it writing so i wouldnt shop the offer around, let me take the car home which made me feel better. Then the Sienna I was told we woudl be getting "disapeeared." After being told it was at a credit union, i was told they didnt own one like it. Then i found the guy who gave me the deal wasnt the owner like he claimed. They knew they were full of it as they didnt even try to get me to stay when i dropped off the car. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS

Not in Alaska you can't. The used ones that were for sale were the 2002 Coleman 10' no breeze no nothing (less options then we have in the new one) for $5800 at a shady dealer who refused to set it up. A 1991 Coleman 10' for $4k, not in good shape at all, and a 1992 Palomino 8' that was on its last legs for $1k. We are happy with the one we bought, its prepped for a/c, so $600 or so and it will have a/c. The generator can be bought later too, right now we have use of one from the base, so its no hurry. Nothing is cheap up here, least of all RVs. I guess we could have waited and driven out to the states in the spring and saved a couple grand, but it wasn't worth it to us. *snaps fingers* Why didn't I think of having you pick me up one and drive it up?? hehehe
Bought new 05 Accord DX VP for $15,331 from Curry Honda in ATL
by camrypop on Sun Jul 03 14:00:48 PDT 2005
Got it thru the internet dept(would never deal w/ anybody but the internet salesguys). The price included all fees(destination, processing, GA lemon law) and was before tax and title. It had 5 miles and was manufactured in June 05. I bought it on june 30th. Satin Silver was the exterior color. Again this car was purchased from Curry Honda. Can't say enough good things abt the sales guy. Wish the moderators would let me give out his name. Let me just say he was of Korean descent and has been with Curry Honda for 6 yrs. I am still amazed by his straightforwardness and lack of duplicity. Most every other dealer salesperson I went through was shady as hell(I shopped abt 10 dealers in the nashville and ATL area). Now, there is one dealer in ATL that I will never do biz w/. The dealer is Team Honda in Lithia Springs. The saint of a salesperson quoted me a good price by way of email. I made sure to ask him if it included ALL fees except for state mandated TTL. He gave me a resounding yes. I asked him to fax over the buyers order along w/ Vin# and miles. I even gave him my credit card # to put a hold on the car. The following day after not hearing from him, I called Team Honda and was told that the salesperson was not working that day. Funny but it was the last day the deal was available. Asked to speak to someone else and got the internet manager. This dude was shadier than the salesperson. When I was telling him the price I received, I could hear the hesitation in his voice. He told me he would call me back later that day. When the fool called back, he was happy to inform me that the salesperson had made a mistake and omitted the $499 doc/processing fee. I told him that the email explicitly stated that the quote included all fees. He said, yeah, it was a mistake. The worst thing is this same manager emailed me abt making our appt to come in. he knew i was coming in from out of state. Pretty sure they where counting on me buying at the inflated price so that i wouldn't have wasted coming in the 1st place. Goddamn thieves. This is why I was so glad to have found Curry. Hennessey seemed honest too but lowest was $15,700 area. Gwennet(?) told me that they where in the 15900 area and couldn't come down. At least they where honest and choice not to play games like Team Honda in Lithia Springs. Included in the price of my Accord was mudguards and a security etching service. I didn't want these items but for the price I got, what the hell, there was no room to go lower. Again, great service from the internet salesguy at Curry Honda. Trust me, I am very hard on salesppl. He was he best!

you will get the spring seats. look closely at the website, on the side it says "front upper spring seats" or somthing to that effect. its complete bs, because it says "strut mount" and shows a picture of a strut mount. i ended up going to checkers for the real strut mount kit, both cost me $138 after tax, and i have to wait till monday. i think ill call tire rack and complain, that is really shady advertising. i went with the monroe sensatracs because someone had posted here, or maybe gmforums that they were a tad firmer than oem. the white does kinda suck, maybe ill paint them silver too, wonder what kind of paint to get. or maybe just paint the kyb's white too. i dont want to sound ricey, but id at least like them to match.
