Re: AUDI A3 2.0T [dino001]
by f8u1e on Sat Sep 13 08:48:24 PDT 2008
The local dealer - Harper Audi, Knoxville, TN - tells me that Audi America will not accept an order that includes PPS - Sport Package with sport seats, sport suspension and 18" wheels w/225/40 performance tires. I have also been in DIRECT contact with "Malcolm", a Customer CARE advocate at Audi, who is telling me much the same thing. I would appreciate any help as I have been trying to get this car ordered since early June when the prices and option packages were announced. Thanks!
CarsWithoutBorders asks leaders to stand up and take a position.

CarsWithoutBorders issued the following e-mail to all of the leaders of all of the political parties with copies to the media. We encourage all our members to email their local candidates and demand that they come clean and declare their position on our issues that are so important to the cost of living of each and every Canadian. Harper.S@parl.gc.ca; ‘DionS@parl.gc.ca’; ‘Layton.J@parl.gc.ca’; ‘leader@greenparty.ca’; ‘Duceppe.G@parl.gc.ca’ Sent: September 3, 2008 12:43 PM Subject: Your Party’s position on “Fair Automobile Pricing for Canadians” Letter to the Leaders all of the key political parties of Canada! As most of you are aware, CarsWithoutBorders was founded last November 2007, as a result of Government “bungling” over the rules regarding the importation of vehicles into Canada. Many average hard working Canadians were prevented from freely purchasing less expensive vehicles in the U.S. Working hard with Transport Canada, our group of members has been successful in helping to change the regulations and make it easier for Canadians to realize substantial savings. Many have reduced their cost of living significantly! This year to date, over 89,000 Canadians have saved over $450 M purchasing their vehicles in the U.S. But the “gouging” by the Canadian Car Manufacturers continues!Recent articles in MacLean’s Magazine and the Saint Jean Telegraph point out that although prices in Canada have come down 6-8%, Canadians are still paying billions of dollars more than their cousins in the U.S. for the same equivalent automobiles. Similarly, car parts and services are also higher in Canada. So with the country on the verge of an election, and many hundreds of our members located in the “key” turn-around ridings, that will make or break your changes of forming the next Government, we need to understand your parties’ stance on these key consumer issues. If elected, what will your Government do to even the playing field and ensure that hard working Canadians are no longer “gouged” by the Canadian Car Manufacturers? What will your Government do to ensure that Canadians have the choice to freely shop in the U.S. to achieve substantial savings? What will your Government do to help establish “Fair Automobile Pricing” for hard working Canadians? We would appreciate a timely response, or if you would like further clarification please have your people call us. Robert Lamb Serge Bergeron Founders of CarsWithoutBorders

First of all, there’s quite a bit of fluctuation. There are long periods of time when the average global temperature was as much as 9 C degrees (16 F degrees) colder than now. These were ice ages. Much of the northern part of the world was covered with thick sheets of ice, much like we see today in Greenland and Antarctica. The most recent ice age ended about 12,000 years ago. There were also times when it was warmer than today. On the whole, we are in a relatively warm period. What causes these changes in climate? There are many factors. Harper in Knoxville, TN looks to be 6 hours away from you. Nice deals, no BS, and $0 doc fee. It is where I got my G37. Dennis

The M lease is finally at the end :D ? The dealer I got my card from in Knoxville (Harper) might be worth a call or e-mail. They have $0 doc fee, but normally get $700 over invoice for an Internet deal. With the $350 loyalty cash you would be looking at no more than $350 over invoice for the car, destination, and dealer fee. No hidden fees and no mark up on the lease MF or bank fee either. Just something to keep in mind. Last chance to get the sedan rather than the coupe as well :D . Dennis
Re: Good Deal G37 6MT? [tonyr313]
by dwynne on Tue Jun 10 13:33:53 PDT 2008
I got mine from Harper in Knoxville. They have no doc fee and don't mark up the lease rates. If they have a 6mt to lease you it would be at the VPP price with $0 additional. Might be worth the drive to go get it - it is not that far but premium is well over $4 a gallon now. You can contact me via my profile if you want more info. You are correct, with that dealer's high doc fee you are better off at invoice + doc fee than the VPP price + doc fee. A net of nearly $600 over is not that bad for a coupe, I don't think, and 6mt models can be hard to find. When I get a minute I can try to run the numbers and see if they match, but otherwise that is an OK deal. Dennis
