Regarding the upcoming Lexus RX : WHOA UGLY !!!!!!!! Honestly next to this thing the outgoing model looks positively handsome and aggressive in comparison. I'm no fan but to me the outgoing RX looks pretty good inside out, the new one totally ruins it. "54k? A 335i competitor? At this economy one can easily get a 335i with sports and premium at around $42k. Do you mean a left over '08, or one of the new '09s at $42?" Yeah the leftover 08s are sold so cheap here, not 42k but they offer $500 over invoice tops (less selling ones offered for invoice). What about the 09s? Well you can easily get a loaded 09 335i for $1000-1200 over invoice at highest. BMW is struggling guys, as indicated by september sales plumetting by about 80% worldwide. For the 1st time I agree the white exterior looks good, tho my ultimate choice remains blue (topaz?). If only BMW can offer better interior colors. The grey is downright cheap, the black is ok but tasteless for my flavor (only Audi and MB got blacks right imo), leaving only beige as an option (color deseprately mismatched with the dark wood trim). What about cream? How come BMW offers one in the 6-series but not in the 3??? H, that carcoholism is incurable, just look at Jay Leno :P :P :P

Just got home with an EX-L w/ RES & NAV
by grizfan on Sun Aug 19 07:56:46 PDT 2007
I'm in the Boise, ID area and have been looking for a few weeks. We wanted the EX-L w/ RES & NAV, but my wife was set on getting in in midnight blue pearl. No one had this combo locally, so, based on the advice from this forum, I sent out a series of emails to Honda dealerships in Idaho, the Salt Lake area and the Portland area. Within an hour, I'd received a few auto-replies, and one personal reply from Jay Lee's Gladstone Honda in Gladstone, OR. They had what we wanted, and their price was significantly better than anything locally. One other dealership matched their price, but didn't have the right color, the other offers were quite a bit higher. So, we agreed upon the price below, all by email: 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL w/RES/Nav $30,187 +Splash Guards $155 +Cargo Tray $115 +Cross Bars $255 Total Price of the Vehicle $30,712 Plus Doc. Fee $50 and Temp Fee $20 Out the Door Price $30,782 Oregon doesn't have sales tax, so I'll need to tack on 6% when I register it here in Idaho next week. With the recent deals available from Honda, this is a great time to by. I saw in an earlier post someone from WI got a similar van for about $800 less, but here in the Northwest, that was the best deal I could find, and we were able to get the van exactly the way we wanted. I also need to comment on the shopping experience. The person I dealt with at Gladstone Honda was great. Her answers to my questions were prompt and thorough. I flew over to Portland yesterday morning with a cashier's check in my pocket, they had my van cleaned and ready, the paperwork process was fast, and while they did show me the various extended warranty/paint protection/etc options, there was zero pressure to buy these add-ons. A few hours later, the new van was in our drive way, and I couldn't be happier. Everyone should be able to enjoy a car shopping experience like that!
Price Paid in San Diego, CA for 2007 CR-V EX-L 2WD w/o Nav
by greatidea on Sat Jun 16 01:52:44 PDT 2007
Hello everyone. I have been lurking here for the past 3 months, trying to educate myself on the art of getting a great deal. Well, today I tried to apply those skills and got the following deal: Today, 06/15/2007 I purchased a Glacier Blue 2007 Honda EX-L 2WD (no Nav) for $24,604 before TT&L. This price includes destination charge and some things that all the dealers seem to add such as cargo tray, splash guards, door edge guards, and wheel locks. I also got them to throw in cross rails for the roof rack. The finance guy matched Saccucci's price for Honda Care extended warranty, I bought the 8 year / 120,000 for $985. (He said this was dealer cost.) Also purchased the "Active" alarm, for $389.00 which he said was dealer cost. This is different from the passive theft deterrent that is included with the vehicle. Having an active alarm saves me 20% on my car insurance from Safeco. Doc and DMV Fees were $313.75 Sales tax was $1941.22 Final OTD price with extended warranty and alarm was $28232.97 Purchased from Tipton Honda, El Cajon, CA. (A few minutes East of San Diego.) I just emailed several dealers around San Diego. Tipton's internet department's first offer was very good, and they were willing to beat anyone else. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal here in San Diego. Thanks to everyone who has posted, as I really appreciate the information you provided. The knowledge you provided certainly helped me get a deal that I am very happy with. - Jay

Dewey, thanks for the memories. The 94 Ranger Stanley Cup, the 1980 US Olympic hockey victory and the Jets winning the Super Bowl in 1969 were my favorite victories all time. At least you had the Blue Jays twice.
