**OMG** Have I got a good one for you all. I am doing some preliminary shopping for Highlander, so I asked my local dealer to throw me some numbers for HiHy 12K/35 month - low to no money down and to throw me the same on a limited gasser. I wanted to just get a feel for where they were going to come in. Get this, for the HiHy - $975/month For the Sport (he said he couldn't find a limited) - $700/month No WAY would I accept those terms. EVEN at 7 franklins a month - I'd be owning that baby at the end. I may be looking for another dealer soon, when it comes time to get serious.

The story gets better: (from Wikipedia) n 1996, inventor Stanley Meyer was sued by two investors to whom he had sold dealerships, offering the right to do business in Water Fuel Cell technology. His car was due to be examined by the expert witness Michael Laughton, Professor of Electrical Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. However, Meyer made what Professor Laughton considered a "lame excuse" on the days of examination and did not allow the test to proceed.[3] According to Meyer the technology was patent pending and under investigation by the patent office, the Department of Energy and the military.[14] His "water fuel cell" was later examined by three witnesses in court who found that there "was nothing revolutionary about the cell at all and that it was simply using conventional electrolysis". The court found Meyer guilty of "gross and egregious fraud" and ordered him to repay the two investors their $25,000.[3] And later on...... Stanley Meyer died suddenly on 21 March 1998 after sipping from his drink while dining at a restaurant. An autopsy report by the Franklin County, Ohio coroner concluded that Meyer had died of a cerebral aneurysm, but conspiracy theorists insist that he was poisoned to suppress the technology, and that oil companies and the United States government were involved in his death.

It simply an excuse to drain your wallet. That effectively makes you broke, if you've been honest - playing by the rules: 1) after you pay your taxes, and 2) lose your 401K in the stock market. Oh and do you think social security is going to have $, as our leaders spend us into many trillions of debt? So drain, drain, drain, drain. This certainly doesn't seem like the U.S. that Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin helped spearhead the creation of. Anyone who believes in GW and wants to stop it, please send me some $ then to pay my heating bills.
Re: Wiring Harnes-2003 Oldsmobile Alero [burdawg]

The year of the car is a 2003, so it's 5 years old, with 87 miles on it. When I bought the car, it was used, and it had only 80 miles on it. I only had the car for four months before this wiring harness fire happened. The warranty that was on the car, was for 180 days, which covered the axle, transmission, and motor, but nothing within the dashboard, or radio. Everything was manufacture inside the car. My insurance wouldn't cover it, because it wasn't in a collision. The only thing they would cover was the radio, which was a $11.56 check, with the deductible of $250.00 that I would have to pay. I hope that helped, I pray that you could give me a solution. I called the oldsmobile manufacture recall center, so they have gotten involved. I'm just waiting on them now. My next step is to the media, and a lawyer.
Reality check

Ok it could have been solved easily and I have many suggestions how, Wall St. might have worked it out on their own but once it became Paulson's bill did they heed the advice of Bernanke that it was urgent? Ney, they dawdled, rebuked, porked and earmarked. Damn them and wipe the slate clean . Vote out any Congressman or Senator wth 8 years of tenure or more. They are corrupt, as corrupt as Charles Fuld of Lehman Brothers or Franklin Raney. The message was given to them, the house is on fire and at your feet are buckets of water. They debated, they delayed, they porked they congressed. End result, they allowed the fires of financial hysteria to alight . Poor decision. Reality; they called a recession in January but we had two quarters of increasing gnp. New reality; we will enter a real recession because consumer confidence will decline. Reality check, McDonalds will still sell you a hamburger, Chevron a gallon of gasoline, United Health a flu shot and Walgreens whatever. To my Canadian friends, Tim Horton still sells coffee. The Chinese word for crisis is the same word for opportunity. Relax the world shall go on . As cool as Jimmy Buffet, Warren has been buying, The fear is too overdone. Hang tough salesman.
