Diesel recall: by ohbluto on Fri Dec 07 14:55:26 PST 2007; Heard today about a Ford deisel recall and am wondering if anyone knows if my truck falls under the category.....it's a 2004 F-350 6.0 dually and falls down to idle while driving in traffic, parking lots...doesn't matter where the throttle's at....the accelerator pedal does nothing until it's restarted. I can put it in "neutral" in traffic, shut it down and start it again while coasting and be OK for a while until the next time (3 times a day at least). . In the mean time on Monday, I'll call the dealer to see what kind of "story" I can get out of them.....Anyone know anything, please help. Doug in NY

Jumped into 'idle" while driving: by ohbluto on Mon Dec 03 03:28:12 PST 2007; My '04 F350 Diesel 6.0 with 200K (dually) did the wierdest thing 5 times this week. With temps below freezing in upstate NY, the truck just quits....doesn't stall out, but just goes into idle. I shut it down, immediately restart it and it's fine. I'm using good quality diesel and using a fuel additive called Seafoam with every tank....as a footnote, I recently had the injector sensor replaced if that helps at all. Anyone know what this problem is and how to remedy it???? Doug in NY

The guy I went to came highly reccomended as he works only on the 6.0's, but he's at the dealership...maybe he moonlites...I'll find out. I'm in upstate NY so cold starts aren't far off...thanks again!! Ohbluto

Said they "jumped" it over and started right up....estimated at $700.00 after tax....I said OK and fix it. Does this sound right to you? Thanks. Ohbluto

04 F350 6.0 diesel--won't start: by ohbluto on Thu Oct 18 03:52:27 PDT 2007; I'm 2 hours new to this forum and am hopeful to get some help with my truck with 198K miles on it. I drove it sorta hard (like it should be driven) and ran real sweet after having a coolant leak problem fixed. Shut it down for 45 minutes, went back to start it and cranked and cranked but wouln't start. I'm told it may be a cam sensor. Anyone familiar with this issue? HELP!!! Ohbluto in NY
