All along the market was being fueled by credit, at least the last go round. The credit extended to the sub prime buyers. Greed has a way of catching up with folks. Sure the tax rebates had some impact in stirring demand, as did the interest rate cuts. However, the sub prime had a bigger impact. Wonder what will fill the void once the war is over? Cutting interest rates of spending are the only ways govt can fuel the economy. Were at 2% on the interest rates and we are in hock as a nation as it is.
Obama and close neigbor Bill Ayers
by gagrice on Mon Oct 06 16:25:27 PDT 2008
Casual acquaintenance, hardly.... "In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district's influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. While Ayers and Dohrn may be thought of in Hyde Park as local activists, they're better known nationally as two of the most notorious -- and unrepentant -- figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s anti-war movement. ... 'I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers' house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress,' said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the info rmal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. '[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor.' Same Alice Palmer that will not speak to Obama and endorsed Hillary for President. During The Time Obama And Ayers Served Together On The Woods Fund, Ayers Was Quoted Saying "I Don't Regret Setting Bombs ... I Feel We Didn't Do Enough." Dinitia Smith, "No Regrets For A Love Of Explosives," The New York Times, 9/11/01 While Obama And Ayers Were Serving On The Woods Fund Together, Ayers Posed Standing On An American Flag For An Article In Chicago Magazine Entitled "No Regrets." (Marcia Froelke Coburn, "No Regrets," Chicago Magazine, 8/01) "Since coming out of hiding in 1980, the couple have raised three boys in Chicago and become part of the fabric of their liberal South Side neighborhood. Neighbors said it's only natural that Obama would know Ayers and Dohrn, who often open their homes for gatherings filled with lively discussions about politics, arts and social issues. Obama and his wife 'are part of our neighborhood and part of our social circle,' said Elizabeth Chandler, a neighbor of Ayers'." (Trevor Jensen, Robert Mitchum and Mary Owen, "Bill Ayers' Turbulent Past Contrasts With Quiet Academ ic Life," Chicago Tribune, 4/17/08) "Senator Obama's ties to a former leader of the violent left-wing activist group the Weather Underground are drawing new scrutiny as he battles Senator Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination." (Russell Berman, "Obama's Ties To Left Come Under Scrutiny," The New York Sun, 2/19/08) These were all published in mainstream publications. Why is it so hard to see that Obama is not casually attached to this terrorist? What goes on in those cell meetings in Hyde park? Obama should be avoided like the plague, if for nothing else his lack of common sense. He surrounds himself with people that hate America and would try to destroy it. His not wanting to pledge allegiance to the flag should have been a warning to USAll.

I think the coming 20% fall in the stock market, as predicted by Jim Cramer (pardon me !CRAMER!), and the rest of the economic woes facing the country are going to fall squarely on Bush's shoulders. Cardboard sales are way down and that's a real bad sign - people aren't selling stuff and don't need boxes for shipping. Most people are going to look at Bush's legacy and think he took his eye off the economic ball pursuing an unjustified war in Iraq. And I think most undecided voters are going to try to punish the Republican party for Bush's record. McCain's going to have to dig deep to counter that.

Agree...... ;) I think their are too many folks that let the radicals Hush Bimbo, Sean Vannity, Bill "The Leprechaun" O'Reilly, decide who they should vote for. :confuse: As far as the military troops deciding who should be their commander in chief.....Well let's just say their is to many right-wing spin doctors brain washing our troops and filtering what news they are allowed to hear. For a while the troops were brain washed into thinking that if you were against the war in Iraq, well you were automatically against the troops. Trust me I faced many of them that thought that way as it George "Goebbels" Bush, was preaching that crap almost every day to justify going into Iraq. The sad fact remains is that democrats do more for the troops as in health care, pay, PPE, than republicans but the spin machines say democrats are anti-military. :confuse: -Rocky

Stephen Labaton Is your prior author and his credibility is in question. You do keep up with the authors of your articles? As is if being a communist is the end all. Communist don't tolerate freedom of speech. Your going to have to get better media outlets. The above mentioned are affecting you. Besides FOX, Grudge, and Rush are an insult to anyone's intelligence and are beyond intelligent discourse. They are out to rally rural America to the ill fated neocon cause. How much more do they have to do to you/America before you realize your being used. Country bumpkins and yokels think that they are inferior to the GOP (their superiors) and assume they will in the end take care of them. As all the jobs leave America to communist China, a war is fought for oil/ego, and the GOP/buddies on Wall Street abuse the country. How dare they not take personal responsibility? How dare they trade with the communist? How dare they profit on a war? How dare they under estimate the American intelligence and have the gull to seek office in the peoples govt?

That's what I thought also. Strange because he is certainly one of those who was pushing for the Iraq war. Seems like he may have actually learnt some lessons from that experience.
