Re: Acura vs. Infiniti [braydenh]

If my 06 tsx were to beat your g35 (the g35 will win) I would return it for a refund. I did not buy my car to race. I was more interested in gas mileage, comfort, and reliability. The tsx is all that for less money. I average 30,000+ miles a year. Why would I want to buy a used gs when I can buy a new acura.

Subrogation basically means that your insurance company is going to pay you off and then they will settle up with the other company after they fight it out later. You get your money from your insurance company so that you can move on to another car without waiting forever. Since you have a deductible of $500 on your policy, your insurance company will withhold $500 from your settlement. When all is settled later, you will (most likely) get your $500 back but it will take some time. (This is how it worked for me about 8 years ago; the other company was not moving fast enough for me.) Ask your adjuster some more questions on subrogation and how it relates to your specific situation. Once you are paid off, the rental car goes away quickly, if not immediately, so you probably need to do some preliminary car shopping. Hope this helps...
Christmas Party
by traindriver on Mon Nov 17 19:25:58 PST 2008
Christmas Party Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company's Christmas Party. He didn't even remember how he got home from the party... As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong. Jack had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he saw is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table. And, next to them, a single red rose! Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins, cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror. Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick: 'Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to get groceries to make you your favorite dinner tonight. I love you, darling! Love, Jillian. ' He stumbles to the kitchen and sure enough, there is hot breakfast, steaming hot coffee and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. Jack asks,' Son... what happened last night?' 'Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and out of your mind. You fell over the coffee table and broke it, and then you puked in the hallway, and got that black eye when you ran into the door.' Confused, he asked his son, 'So, why is everything in such perfect order and so clean? I have a rose, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me??' His son replies, 'Oh THAT!... Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you screamed, 'Leave me alone (*woman*), I'm married!!'' Broken Coffee Table $239.99 Hot Breakfast $4.20 Two Aspirins $.38 Saying the right thing, at the right time......PRICELESS * (edited to remove profanity ;) )
At least it is car related...

A blonde was driving home after a game and got caught in a really bad hailstorm. Her car was covered with dents, so the next day she took it to a repair shop. The shop owner saw that she was a blonde, so he decided to have some fun. He told her to go home and blow into the tail pipe really hard, and all the dents would pop out. So, the blonde went home, got down on her hands and knees and started blowing into her tailpipe. Nothing happened. So she blew a little harder, and still nothing happened. Her blonde roommate saw her and asked, 'What are you doing?' The first blonde told her how the repairman had instructed her to blow into the tail pipe in order to get all the dents to pop out. The roommate rolled her eyes and said, 'Uh, like hello! You need to roll up the windows first.

It was 2 years ago today when I bought my new 06 Milano red/ebony 6MT w. nav tsx from Lehigh Valley Acura in Pa. It now has 65,567 miles. It passed it's annual NC state inspection today with the original OEM tires (4/32) Getting new tires for xmas. Problems were: cracked foglights, heater element is driver's seat stopped working and scratched headlight. The were fixed by the dealer (under warranty). Get excellent gas mileage with more than enough power and performance. Still using regular gas. One other complaint-lousy paint-chips to easy.
Re: 2009 Maxima v 2009 Mazda6 [aviboy97]
by traindriver on Mon Nov 17 10:52:16 PST 2008
Personally, I don't put the 6 in the same class as the Maxima. In my eyes, the 6 would best be compared to the Altima, Camry, and Accord. The Maxima is better compared to the Acura TL and maybe the VW Passat. The 6 seems like a good value when compared to the Altima, Accord, and Camry. A Maxima SV with the options you mentioned stickers much higher than 30k and, though discounts seem to be available, will still be several grand more than the Mazda 6 you have described. I have had a Millenia, Tribute, and a B4000. The Millenia and the truck were great vehicles; the Tribute was so-so at best. Overall I think Mazdas are good cars. You seem to lean toward the 6 -- what do the inlaws think? I would give them enough info for them to make their own decision. I'm not sure I would want to be the scapegoat in a situation like this.... ;)
