That's right folks, it's that time of the year again, when we all break out of the winter blues of no car shows, no auto-x, no road racing, no drag strips and head out on the open highway for a good cause. This is the 8th Annual running where a group of Subaru enthusiasts from all over the TriState area take a 3 day long trip covering about 48hrs of driving overall from Subaru Headquarters in NJ to the wintery snow of the Adirondacks. This year we are planning on about 900 miles of highways, backroads and no roads with dinners and partys every night. We also will be visiting SOA headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ we will also be visiting Subaru Distributors Corp, the company that distributed most of our cars, and Vermont Sports Car where they build rally cars for SOA. Last year we raised over $13,000 for the American Cancer Society from pledges that the participants gathered and SOA's matching donations! Our goal this year is to raise over $8,000 for ACS. The trip will start with a dinner kickoff in Cherry Hill, NJ on Thurs Night Jan 15, 2008. We will continue on Friday morning with a visit to Subaru of America Headquarters for breakfast and then the drive will take our Subies up to SDC Headquarters for a catered lunch. Friday night we end in Burlington, VT. Saturday morning we have a tour of Vermont Sports Car planned, a treat for any Rally fans out there. Sat night after cruising the Northern Adirondacks we will end up at Dunham's Bay Resort in Lake George for our Raffle Banquet. Sunday will take us down through central NYS ending at our closing dinner meet in Scranton, PA All kinds of Subies are welcome on this trip. We've had XT6s, GLs, DLs, Legacies, Brats, you name it! Several companies also have provided us with door prizes for those participating! In past years we've had $1000s and $1000s worth of raffle prizes! The important info: What: Group drive to raise money for ACS and have a fun 900+ mile trip along the way. lemko, That is very sound advice buddy !!! ;) Seriously, dad and I have joked about living off the land. We talk about having a lake to fish for food and woods to hunt deer and other wildlife to eat !!! We talked about growing vegetables in the yard for consumption as well !!! I like Lenny, want to tend the rabbits and will live off the fat of the land !!! I don't think even John Steinbeck, could imagine that the pseudo-capitalist would destroy our country over greed again !!! :sick: -Rocky

No problems with my 92 SVX when I had it. Not a lot of aftermarket parts but stockers were relatively easy to get. The great thing about the subies is that on the newer cars, 90% of the stuff is overlapping with at least 1 if not 2 other models. So parts are easy to interchange. -mike

I run a subaru specific shop in NNJ and we do the 30k mile service all the time (did one yesterday actually) and we charge $365 for the same 30k but with Amsoil Synthetic fluids. We charge an additional $75 for non-platinum plugs but usually only do those at 60k intervals. Dealers charge way way too much. I just saw 2 non-dealer Genesises on the road (Lake Elsinore, on Collier and 74). The first one seemed to be silver (it was twilight, so hard to tell), and I only caught the rear-left quadrant. At first I thought it was a Bimmer 5 series, but knew something was different. Turned my head as it passed to my left, and sure enough, the "flying H" was prominently displayed. The second one was just minutes later, a beautiful light-blue. Again, wasn't sure what it was, and thought it was a Lexus LS for a while just based on the taillights, then noticed that some details were definitely not Lexus. Moved up right behind it to take a picture with my cell phone, and sure enough, saw the "flying H." I passed it on the right, and it was an elderly couple, with the lady driving. If I am not mistaken, she had a big smile on her face - not surprised. BTW, I stopped by Garden Grove Hyundai a couple of months ago, and not only did they have 8+ Genesises on the lot, it was unexpected to find 2 V8's - one silver, one black, I think.

I doint know if this will give you any insite to your problem I have a 97 chev blazer that is making whirring type noise ( seems to be comming from front driverside undercarriage with some vibration felt on driverside floor board ; over the last two years I have relaced both halfshafts ( fron axels) twice, new rotors/brakes, new wheel bearings twice on driverside and once on passager side, new U joints in main rear drive shaft; idler arm, driverside ball joints twice; passenger side balljoints once, new tires twice, new shocks front and back, I have taken it in for tire balance numerous times; with all mechanics advice still makes noise but has gotton louder the last few weeks; now I am preparing to drop front diffential and rebuild with bearing/seal kit; hoever I dont feel to enthusiasic or remotely sure if this is the provlem. This doen't include all of the other non related repairs I have done; WHAT A LEMMON! I paid way too much for it in the first place and then the value has dropped I suppose due to the poor reputation; I have poured $1000-$2000 total into it for repairs and it is still hungry; on the possitive side at least I am getting a lot of excercise. maybe I should just push it off a cliff rather than try and sell it and give someone else the pains and edless pit of repairs and $. Lesson learned; never judge a car by it's cover.
