Re: Driver' Window Position [akirby]

Did not notice on the test drive. On most of the cars I have driven from the 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook, which I learned to drive on, to the present have had fabric at that spot. I have always worn that spot down with my arm and have become used to it and expect it there. I may need help overcoming the traumatic change I will encounter from not having this familiar worn spot on the door.

Yup, Left to right: '41 Chevy, '52 or '53 Lincoln, '49 Buick Roadmaster and '49 Dodge Meadowbrook

The teasing new Challenger seems to be more of a retro-Plymouth Barracuda to my eye. I note the filler panel in front of the leading edge of the hood, the way the rear quarter comes up to the hip, the rear taillight, all seem more Barracuda-esc to my eye. Regardless, I think its beautiful even if they called it a Meadowbrook! Regards, Dusty

The new Dodge Meadowbrook, aka "Charger" is most definitely high tech, but style wise it sucks! Everything out of Dodge looks like a truck from the front. And yeah, there is no such thing as a 4 door Charger, and to true Dodge fanatics there never will be! You can stick any kind of label on any thing, means absolutely nothing! The best thing anyone can do with the new Meadowbrook is to scrap ALL of the sheet metal and slap a REAL Charger body on it! By the way I own several Dodges from a 1960 D-500, a ' 65 Coronet 500 426, a ' 68 Charger RT, a 71 Cuda Pak ( original) and a 78 Magnum. All, except the ' 78 will EASILY smoke the new Charger, 0 to 60 or in the quarter. No, they won't equal the gas mileage, but who cares? They are my toys, not my daily transportation appliance! Which is all the new so-called Charger is, an ugly appliance! It's a shame, cause Daimler could have done it right, but they chose to pander to the morons that wear their pants down around their Knees and their caps on sidewise!
what model is this?

I saw what appeared to be a 1948 or 49 Dodge Meadowbrook. Odd thing was it was a coupe fastback but it had an extra small window in the rear doors. Sort of six side windows rather than the normal 4. Kinda liked it! Wonder what model that was?

Months ago I aked for help naming a car that I saw on the Meadowbrook. No one could think of anything that looked like Ouale. Well I saw it again today with a different driver... maybe a different car but I doubt it. Isaw it up close.... a royal blue Qvale Mangusto convertible. That's right... Qvale. I got to see it up close right by where the INS building was evacuated today because of a powdery substance. http://www.qvaleauto.com/ :confuse:
