BMW 335i convertible for 2 grand under invoice!!!
by babydoctor77 on Wed Aug 20 16:29:05 PDT 2008
I recently bought a new built to order BMW 335i convertible for 2,000 under invoice. I bought it from Alderson Motors in Lubbock, Texas. It was really easy to bargain with him.....nice guy and very cooperative. Once again, I special ordered it so I was able to get whatever I wanted without compromising colors/options etc. He has a lot of people ordering from out of state from him too....which I presume is because of the price! I've never seen BMWs or Benz at 2 grand under invoice!!! PM me with any questions. Good luck!

What I did was negotiate an 06 that appeared to be $900+ over invoice. As I mentioned, I simply asked how much more the very same vehicle in the 07 version would be. When they offered it for $1400 more, it took me about 30 seconds to say "yes". My local dealer is Alderson Lexus/Cadillac/BMW, Lubbock Texas. This is my 3rd trade with them. These guys are nothing like anywhere I've ever traded. They are perfectly happy to allow me to find a buyer for my trade, buy the car from me when I've found one, and sell it to my buyer with no added charges. Therefore, my trade on this deal was all the money. They made "nada" on it. Interesting business practice, isn't it? It keeps me going back. Point is, there was no money left on the table so it was like a no-trade buy. Sticker on the car: 2007 9420A RX 350 5-DR SUV $37400 18" wheels $495 Heated seats, rain sensing wipers, and headlamp washers $665 Nav w/bluetooth and backup camera $2650 Premium Plus Pkg $2960 Tow Prep Pkg 160 Cargo Mat $92 Wheel Locks $66 total $44,488 freight $695 grand total $45183 Our deal sheet that showed our trade at what we sold it for (via their generous pass-through) listed the 07 @ $41,950. According to Edmunds, that's right close to $2500 over invoice. I considered that a do-able deal on a high resale vehicle with 18mo before the next model comes out. Good luck, all. The 07 is a winner! :)
dash rattle + stuck in PARK problem
by dardson1 on Wed Mar 23 18:40:05 PST 2005
Dealer said the PARK problem was part of the recall we got a month+ ago. I didn't read it thoroughly but it seemed to talk about the brake lights. . .anyhow, it's working fine. Had a dash rattle (front right dash). They had a TSB on it Pulled the whole thing and re-insulated. That seems to be fixed too. Had a new RX to drive for 2 days while it was repaired. Who can complain about that! That's why we buy these darn cars. Service at my local dealership (Alderson Lexus) is outstanding. Got it back washed with the tires all blacked and pretty. Don't really know how they afford it. The cars don't cost all that much more than a Toyota.
transmission problem - 2000 Nav
by 4jas4 on Mon Sep 29 20:35:12 PDT 2003
Thank you nvbanker and blockislandguy for your input. I wrote a letter to Lincoln Committment...Darryl Hazel, Pres. Had a call (not a letter) from Duncan Alderson; he has stuck by the 72 hours....considers that the dealership not being able to immediately work on the transmission as something beyond their control. As if it were not beyond mine. My reply to Mr. Alderson was that I felt Ford was being inflexible in their business attitude and that it is no wonder they are losing business (a business that has no flexibility soon is left behind). As to the type of transmission, I am going to have to read the copy of the repair report with an eye to whether the same type was installed. Also, will check on the fluid.
loaner
by dardson1 on Fri Sep 27 19:04:15 PDT 2002
IMHO one of the best thing about Lexus (at least at my dealership) is the loaner perk. If I call for an appointment even to get the oil changed they'll give me a loaner. They've also washed the car each time I've had it in! We've had the car 18 months (01 end of year model). Not a single issue so far....just the initial check-up and 4 oil changes (10k miles). I thought Lexus micro-managed their dealerships. Surprised to hear about bad service. My dealer, Alderson Lexus in Lubbock TX, absolutely treats you like a king. My math tells me Lexus can only do this if they make trouble-free vehicles. I'm sure keeping a fleet of loaners is expensive.
khidot ... ES300 $
by dardson1 on Thu Apr 26 23:58:30 PDT 2001
just got one today in Lubbock (just 350miles west of you)from Alderson Cadillac/BMW/Lexus from Glen Garnett (the head guy in their Lexus dealership) for invoice(actually 200 over according to Edmunds) Did the whole thing in about 45minutes. Believe me, I trade alot, and never had such a quick me-happy/them-happy deal. Got very fair money for my trade and it was a no hassle deal. White ES300 w/Lexus Value PKG(moonroof, 6disc changer, and leather), wood steering wheel, gold kit, wheel locks, and 16"wheels listing for $34700+ discounted $4000+. The lease deal (a Lexus lease perk) paid 5 of the 6.25% sales tax and I paid 1.25 of the sales tax (with my trade $140)....great deal (available til April 30) and even without a trade they do the same paying 80% of your sales tax). Glen, very straight with me, says he sells all over Texas because of his no-nonsense dealing. My buy was over Edmund's TMV (which seems a little ambitious to me), but heck....it was right on invoice and for a Lexus and I figured this guy deserved some money for not making me spend 2 weeks getting to the bottom line....lol....I shopped 3 weeks for a used one and the dang things are nearly as much as my new one. Lexus is cautious about blasting the media with discount prices, but they are definately giving the dealers plenty of room to discount this end-of-production car. My guy said Dallas was strong on ES300 but sales were weak out here in the high dessert. Good luck.
