Hi derrickson, thanks for all your help. I would have pull the trigger if I can get $9k off. Unfortunately, I only get a $8.4k and another $8.3k off, everybody else (including Russell and Smith and Munday) are not even close to that. We are getting closed to November and Consumer Report will have the newest report out (with statistics on 2008 vehicles), I am going to wait.

Hey lockloop, I did all my negotiating online with six different dealerships in the Houston area. Russell and Smith and also Munday mazda offered $10,000 off MSRP. R&S just had the color I wanted. No inflation of the MSRP. Other dearlerships that could not match the price were accusing them of that, but the MSRP on the sticker was exactly what I expectrd after researching online and comparing to other dealerships. No 0% APR if you take the dealer incentive. I would advise you to go in with your own financing(make them have to beat something). It also gives you leverage in negotiating prices of the warranties. They really want you to finance through them and buy a warranty. Did not like the finance games here. Although after arguing with the guy about APR and warrany prices I got the 100,000 mile total care package for 1495 and a 5.75% APR. My problem came when he could magically change my APR from their bank in order to sell the warranty. They are obviously marking up the APR you are approved for by their bank. He actually got out his commisions book and was looking at how he could get me to finance through them and buy a warranty and still make a decent commision. His comment was " we have to make money somehow." Even if you do not want the warranty, act like you do and negotiate a lower APR, then back out of the warranty at the end. Not sure of the legality of the games they play with the APR. EVERYTHING is NEGOTIABLE.

.....while minivan's aren't what some people would term as 'cool,' full size vans (the A-Team aside) are even less so... imho JAVA just likes it when a plan comes together. Yuk, Yuk... moonpie: Did you check Munday Mazda out on 1960?
Discounts

The Saturday edition of the Houston Chronicle newspaper shows three area dealerships offering $3000-$3500 off MSRP or 0% financing on 6's. Is Mazda starting manufacturer's discounts? A discount of this magnitude would bring the price down well below invoice. The ads are general and don't say the discount applies to certain configurations. Has anyone here seen discounts in your part of the country or has someone in Houston actually contacted one of these dealerships (Munday Mazda: $3500 off, Jay Marks: $3000 off or 0%, Joe Myers: $3000 off).
