Re: Acura vs. Infiniti [nj2pa2nc]

That is just the beauty of the G35, mine is an 08. It offers reliability, interior room, lots of tech, its really fast, very comfortable, the list goes on. I would not compare the pricing of the G with the TSX though cos it would not make any sense, the G has everything the TSX has to offer, and then some. Contrast the G with the 335i & IS350. Its way cheaper than those cars. Also, comparing fuel consumption of a 3.5l V6 with a 2l 4 banger would not make sense either.
Now more then minor problems
by ctdan on Tue Nov 18 07:27:22 PST 2008
My post from 11/10 listed some minor problems which were "fixed" by replacing a few sensors, now a week later it looks like I am now in the club of the low voltage, power drain. When I went out to the car yesterday morning there was a constant beeping with a message on the dash saying something to the effect of "return to workshop, do not put in gear". When I put the key in, the car started sluggishly (low power) and then starting with all sorts of flashing waring lights. Also oddly the wipers went on by themselves - although they were in the off position. The car would not go into gear, either fwd or reverse. Called the dealer, they dispatched a tow truck to bring my R350 back to the svc dept. Not a good feeling watching a 2008 that was a few months old being hauled out on a flatbed. The dealer told me that there were too many codes coming up to clearly identify the source of the problem, but they did isolate the fact that underlying issue was low voltage. They initially replaced the battery and ran some overnight diagnostics to check the battery drain in the morning. This morning they told me that there is definitely a drain coming from somewhere, but not sure of primary source. They think it may be coming from the fuel pump since my last gas gauge issue identified in my 11/10 post. I find it interesting though that last week that was nothing to worry about and now they think it is the cause of the problem. After reading some of the other posts I do not get a level of comfort that they will be able to isolate and fix this issue as clearly there seems to be some kind of MB mfg default with no known resolution. Has anyone that has experienced this low voltage/electrical problem been supplied with an actual resolution, other then a new vehicle?
Re: Pricing [philitus]

Haha, the way you describe it is hilarious! Just like Backy said, if she thinks 4000 below invoice is reasonable, let her do the negotiating. You'll either have very understanding salespeople who will realize her perspective on car pricing is unrealistic, and they'll try to be educate and accomodate her. Or, you'll never be able to step foot in there again. One great thing you can count on is that you don't have to argue with you wife about what's reasonable, in terms of pricing. The dealer staff will be burdened with that task. Another possible outcome is that her genuine belief that such a low price is possible may help in negotiations and get the salesperson to give you the lowest number he or she is comfortable with. Good luck.
Re: Tire info [my_mr2]

Update on Kumo Solus KR21 tires in the 225/70/16... Have over 500 miles on them now, and wife drove in black ice condition in the Milwaukee area yesterday. We a 2005 2wd V6 HL. Very nice tire for noise, hwy comfort, and fuel mileage. They also preformed well in black ice conditions. Wife commented about slight slip on take off in traffic, but would grab in 1/2 rotation with traction control, while others in traffic could not get move and would start going sideways. Stopping and turning was not an issue. Vary Happy with selection... Did I mention they are only $120 each installed.

If my 06 tsx were to beat your g35 (the g35 will win) I would return it for a refund. I did not buy my car to race. I was more interested in gas mileage, comfort, and reliability. The tsx is all that for less money. I average 30,000+ miles a year. Why would I want to buy a used gs when I can buy a new acura.
Satisfied MKX owner
by fleurdelis on Mon Nov 17 22:29:17 PST 2008
Sorry to hear about any MKX owner who has to resort to the Lemon laws. I expect that every vehicle manufacturer has had a Lemon, so I wonder if any statistics are kept on the frequency. Also why is it that for the nearly identical Ford Edge, with more sales, and with its forum having twice the number of posts, there is only one post in 2008 that mentions "Lemon" and that was back in 2/08? I myself posted my experience with a problem on our MKX back on 7/12/08. But after 14 months of ownership and roughly 21,000 miles, that isolated experience is fast fading against the overwhelming satisfaction from an otherwise flawless performance. We also continue to enjoy the comfort and still unique style of the MKX.
