Re: Blazer Starting Issue [jpmccr]: by jpmccr on Thu Aug 14 13:53:41 PDT 2008; Ok, it has to be the fuel pump. It did start and ran great for three days. Then the same thing. I did get stranded but it was at work so no foul. I finally got it to turn over so the wife and I went back to my office and I drove it home. Now that it is here, I can search for a fuel filter and if I am lucky have it start just one more time so I can drive it to the shop and not have to have it towed there. Any suggestions on where to look and what a good price would be? Thanks.

Re: Blazer Starting Issue [jpmccr]: by jpmccr on Mon Aug 04 14:29:17 PDT 2008; Now for the strange thing. It sat since Friday morning when this all started. It didn�t start. We took off for the weekend in my wife�s car and came back Sunday. Tried again. No luck. Got up this morning and again it wouldn�t start. Then I got thinking did I hear the fuel pump �whine up� as I call it. Well I tried it and sure enough it was, which to me meant at least the pump was doing something. I did it twice. Then just for grins and giggles, I tried to start it. It fired right up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have no idea unless my fuel filter was clogged and I broke something loose. So this weekend I am going to replace the fuel filter and run a fuel treatment/injector cleaner through the system.

Blazer Starting Issue: by jpmccr on Sun Aug 03 12:34:18 PDT 2008; 2001 Blazer 4X4, 120,630 miles. Problem: refuses to start. New battery, altenator; starter is turning over engine. It sounds like it wants to start however it will not "catch". Where should I check first? Wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor??? I have changed any of the above in a while (really long while). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! I really need to get this thing up and running.

Oil Leak: by jpmccr on Wed Jul 30 17:32:52 PDT 2008; My wife has a 99 Catera with around 77K miles on it. We had the oil changed recently and the mechanic said we had an "excessive" oil leak. I looked and I noticed a dip of oil hanging on the bottom cross member below the oil pan(?). There is a wet spot on the pavement where we park. Any ideas what could cause the leak and what can be done for a fix. Thanks . . .

no title: by grvdgrz on Tue Jul 29 18:53:35 PDT 2008; Since your front brakes are wearing out quickly it would appear that they are doing all the work of stopping the car. I would have a pro look at the rear brakes and check and see if they are performing. Especially the rear caliper pins and the brake hoses. The front hoses can and do fail causing the brakes to be applied slightly even with your foot off the brake pedal.Same with the back, only the effect is to reduce the amount of braking force applied in the rear thereby causing the fronts to wear more quickly. HTH.

Can the dash lights be replaced??: by jpmccr on Mon Jul 14 17:34:27 PDT 2008; 2001 Blazer LT - 120240 miles. I have now about half of the lights working on my dash and climate controls. The radio lights are going out as well. I used to have all of the them but it seems that ever so often another "dies". Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It is very frustrating. . . . . . . :cry:
