What price should I ask for 2009 Sienna LE
by oncogenes on Tue Nov 18 06:40:20 PST 2008
We are looking for a 2009 Sienna LE 8-passenger with Roof DVD, Windown Tilt, Carpet mats, Security system upgrade, Daytime running, and Alloy whells. We are planning to do the trade-in with a 2005 Corolla LE (KBB trade-in value $10,000) and were offered drive-out of $20,000 with 0% APR (that would make the price of the Sienna be about $30,000). Does it seem too bad a deal? Another dealer offered $21,000 drive-out for a Sienna with all options above besides leather interior upgrade. Thank you so much for your comments. Please also advise how much is reasonable for me to negotiate with the dealers. BTW, I'm in Houston, Texas.

1) make an appointment with your service manager to meet the infiniti area service rep. Have them both in the car and drive it in an area where the problem is very evident (you have to do your homework and know where to drive to show the problem). 2) file a formal complaint with the NHTSA. 3) Infiniti is trying very hard to avoid a recall on this. Review this forum, Fresh Alloy and Nico forum. Print out all the entries on this topic and send it to the supervisor at Infiniti (and give a copy to the infiniti regional service advisor when you meet him). Point out that this is a known problem and that should any accident occur due to the problem, it is well documented and will likely be an Infiniti legal problem to deal with.

I would be curious to know how the Acura TL front wheel drive performs in the snow. thanks We live in the snow-belt and have 3-4 months of exposure to snow/sleet/ice. Have had many fwd cars, and rwd, in years past and always mount 4 snow tires on the cars for the winter. Have an 04 Acura TL and have had dedicated alloy rims with Dunlop "50" series snow tires. Got these at TireRack. Live in a rural area with a long uphill drive. The TL has been very good in snow, ice, slush condition. As with any vehicle though, the limiting factor on getting through snow is ground clearance. Knowing that the TL is not a high-standing suv, one must be prudent in attempting to drive through freshly fallen snow that is close to ground clearance dimension in order to not hang up. I would never consider driving a vehicle in snow or ice with "all-season" tires. For sure, not with summer tires. Once got caught in an early snow with summer Pirellis on a Honda and it was nearly impossible to move or control. With Infiniti G35 awd, what are penalties in extra weight, poorer gas mileage, and handling (in the dry) vs a rwd?
Re: 2009 Fit Sport Manual Mileage Update [pmeyers]

I bought a winter wheel and tire package from Tirerack.com for my 07 Fit Sport and am VERY happy with it. The stock wheel/tire package had 15" Alloys on 195/55/15 tires. I did a 'minus one' sizing and went to a 14" steel wheel ($39 each) with four 175/65/14 Winterforce snow tires ($57each). It's true that the narrower tires work better in the snow and slush. The Blizzaks or Dunlop winter tires probably provide better traction than the Winterforce tires I purchased, but Cost was my primary motivator, and I've been satisfied with the better traction these provide compared with all-seasons. The black steel wheels look cool too, as I went to a junk yard and found 4 older Civic "H" silver wheel hubs, for the retro look. As for mileage, running on the all-season OEM tires gets me between 36 and 40 MPG. With winter tires on, it drops maybe 2 MPG. The 09 Fit Sport, however, comes with a different size wheel/tire package than my 07. It's listed as 185/55/16. You can go to Tirerack.com and check out what packages are available, but it looks like they have no 15" steel wheels, if you go the 'minus one' route. Also, I think most of the older Civic wheels were 4-lug wheels, whereas the Fit is a 5-lug wheel. You might try looking at used Accord wheels? Or wait a year until more companies make the different size wheel/tire combo that's on the new Fit. Hope this helps.

That's cute! You make me want to have a whole little fleet of Echos! In the complex where I live, there are a total of 3 others, 1 green 4-door (I love that green, I wish I had searched around for a green one), 1 silver 4-door with the factory alloys (my how I envy those factory alloys!), and the only other stick shift, a black 2-door.
2009 LE
by flymuch on Sat Nov 15 19:08:41 PST 2008
Just bought a new 2009 LE with alloys, value package #2, floor mats and windshield de-icer. This is a pretty standard configuration and we had no trouble finding several dealers who carried this exact car. We ended up buying from Battlefield Toyota in Culpeper Virginia and really got great service and zero hassle! List price on this Slate beauty was $27,950. My offer (with $1000 rebate) was $23,900 plus TTL based on other VA and MD dealers just up the road. We settled on $25,125 OTD, which was within my comfort zone. Essentially $4000 off the list. I couldn't be happier. Don't pay one cent more!!
