US Customs take how many days?
by fortissimo on Mon Feb 11 18:29:12 PST 2008
According to the dealer, the Lynden / Aldergrove, BC US Customs crossing has some "backlog" and has delayed the assigned date for the export. Dealer claimed they filed the paperwork last week, and US Customs can only assign a date exactly the same day a week later. Anyone experienced such backlog?

My 2000 Plymouth Neon was also leaking. The dealership said they typically leak through the tail lights, into the trunk, then underneath the back seat to the floor. They charged me $500 to dry the entire car out and fix the leak. I've had it back 2 days, and its raining outside, so I will know soon if its really fixed. Seems like this is a design flaw and should have been corrected my Plymouth/Dodge by now.

I never thought of it like that but it makes sense! Ross: Maybe one of those silver wagons was me? We never went into Vancouver proper but instead skirted around on Hwy 1. We used the Aldergrove border crossing through Lynden BTW of Bellingham. It was a heck of a lot faster (and easier). I saw another silver wagon heading up the Sea-to-Sky Hwy as I was coming back yesterday. Here's hoping that Whistler gets the OK to host the 2010 Winter Olympics! Yippee!!! :-) Stephen

We won't call you crazy (we save that for elvis) I might think you are a little off. I have a 2000 CC 4x4 Lariat. I love it. It isn't perfect but there would be one heck of a wait on it if it were. I say drive it and enjoy or sell it NOW so we don't have to hear about your woes for the next 4 years. The market is good if you need to sell it. Tabs what are the fees you guys are paying. (License fees) We just passed a tab tax to reduce it to $30 here in washington. When I picked up my truck (9/15) I was shocked at the $769 tab fee. Can't wait till next year for the $30. renewel. I read all kinds of prices out there but the bottom line is I bought mine from Pioneer Ford in Lynden Wa. They have 2 on the lot and the dealer told me last week they would give the same deal to my friends they gave to me. $100 over invoice plus the $160 advertising fee. My truck has 2700 miles on it I am averaging 15.7 MPG with the PSD. I love it. Having the linex installed pick it up tomorrow. T4F

I went to Chuck Aurand at Harris Ford and got a bid (fleet sales). I live in Bellingham so I test drove one at Pioneer Ford in Lynden Wash. They gave me the old "if they can we can speach" I showed them the bid from Chuck (FAX) and they matched it ($100 over invoice) they told me that they knew Chuck and knew he was legit, but they said he sells so many trucks it would take longer to get. Since Harris is 1.5 hours away and Pioneer is 20 min. I thought I would give it a try. Only had it a month but so far (other than a scratchy radio) I have no complaints about the truck or the dealer.T4F

The wood grain looks good on the doors. I'm still not sure I like the new style of wheels over the 99's. My first tank of Diesel got me 14.5 on the computer and 14.51mpg by calculator. Not bad in my book I too printed edmunds info and went to war. I got a bid of 100 over invoice at the first dealer I went to. Then each dealer after that said decide who you want to buy it from. They all matched it. I ended up going with a dealer in Lynden Washington because their sales tax was .8% lower than the other dealers (Seattle area) ((7.8% vs. 8.6%)) I payed cash for my truck with no trade so it was relativly easy. They didn't even try the trick of adding this or that. They lost their leverage of it will only add pennies per month to your payment. My only complaint so far is the AM-FM Cassette has poor radio reception (scratchy) I have a 2000 PSD 4X4 cc Lariat SB T4F
