4L

If your're not going off-road rock climbing, or live on a ranch in North central MT (Everson), or you know of circumstances wherein you will need 4L, then don't consider it a necessity. Or you plan to pull a greyhound bus out of the ditch on Steven Pass.`
Transmission Slippage
by eversons on Sat Apr 27 09:38:40 PDT 2002
I have 35,000 miles on my 2001 YXL with 8.1 liter. About once every 8-12 weeks I experience the slippage. Almost like the truck is on rollers. I give it a little gas, the engine speed increases but the vehicle doesn't move for perhaps a second and then starts moving. Always in a straight line on dry pavement with a warm engine. I have not had any problems with this vehicle and will go to the dealer service department for the first time in May to check for any error codes/ recalls etc. Scott

My buddy is looking at a 1500 4X4 LS extended cab short bed. I don't think he wants any options more than the LS. He lives in Washington state. Thanks again, Scott

Ryan: You've helped me several times over on the Suburban/YXL board. My buddy's work truck was stolen. He was looking for a replacement. So I told him to look at the Silverado or GMC. What are good pricings on a 2002 or 2001? At invoice, below invoice? I see a $2,002.00 rebate. Does he take that off after? Thanks in advance! Scott
Tonyy---Tire Chains
by eversons on Sun Jan 27 07:23:37 PST 2002
I've been wondering why GM reccomends the use of tire chains on only two wheels as well. My guess is that GM is worried that the driveline will start binding up if the wheels get too much grip with the chains if they are on all four wheels.
