Recent road trip 05 taco Canada,USA,Mexico return

I am just back from 12000 kilometer trip from Dryden Ontario Canada down to USA Border at Pembina / Emerson then down through Dakota into Montana, then Idaho,Utah,Nevada. We laid up here for a few days of rubber necking and gambling then on again to Arizona and in to Mexico and then back up into Arizona and into New Mexico,then Texas to New Orleans Louisiana,then Biloxi/Gulf port Mississippi for a few more days of gambling. Then up to Memphis Tennessee for the blues and Martin Lather King anniversary of his death. Then on to Arkansas,Missouri,Illinois,Wisconsin then into Minnesota crossing back in to Canada at Fort Frances Ont/International falls border.On the trip we averaged 20-21 mpg at 70 mpg. We drove in snow, ice ,sand, dirt, mud, rain. with no problems or leaks . Truck handles well and is quite comfortable to drive I weigh 260 pounds. Did notice squealing noise when encountering strong cross winds.Pretty well uneventful trip as for driving portion.Truck is a Tacoma 4 wheel drive six cyl speedway blue,we had 1400 klms when we left and have almost 14000 thousand klms now or about 8,699 miles. Changed the oil and filter while on the road trip and am getting oil changed again next week at dealers for tire rotation and scheduled check.All in all very pleased.

$599 sounds rather expensive for the extended full maintenance plan, my dealer sold it to me for $400+tax. Keep in mind it's maintenance not a warranty, since they all come with 48 month/50k mile warranties. I usually don't buy extended protection but I took a gamble on this in the belief that I'd probably need new brakes by the fourth year. It certainly is not worth it if you are only going to get an extra oil change (even if it is synthetic) or a set of windshield wipers. But, IMHO, it is clearly worth it (at $400) if the brakes are replaced. The information I got from the dealer and this board indicates that the cost would be at least $600 since BMW replaces rather than turns rotors. On the other hand, $599 rather than $400 makes it really no deal, put that cash in the bank (not stocks) instead! Thought I'd have my ED deliery today, but it looks like a few more days. Something about getting stuck at the port (doesn't really matter why, I just want my car!) Dropped it off June 7th in Amsterdam and it apparently got on the Trinidad June 10th and supposedly NYC on the 21st. Still hopeful of getting it within a month I'm in a Toyota Avalon as a rental for what I thought was a week: reminds me of a Caprice I once owned, only lighter. I don't see the attraction at all.

Really super shots of your cars!! Guess I'm going to have to break down and get a digital camera. Barresa, I used to live in Vancouver BC and got down into the Port Gamble, Pt. Townsend, Ft.Casey areas lots of times. Neat things to see/do there but never looked as good as with all the Subies on your recent trip. Like warp's color/wheel combo also.
