Bremerton, WA Car Consumer Discussions

Here is a different way to say it: A dealer can set any price they want, OK. But when someone is stating the MSRP they are stating what THE MANUFACTURE's suggested price is. So altering what the manufactures says is a wrong thing to do. How can a dealer calim that the Honda suggested price is anything other then what Honda's suggested price is? Is that not consumer fraud? I went to other sites, and could not find anyone else "practice" that sort of a thing. It seems to me that Bremerton West Hill Honda and West Hill Toyota are the only ones (same owner).

Here are a couple of links to West Hill Honda in Bremerton Wa. The MSRP seems very high to me. I called in and the MSRP over the phone is also very high compared to the real Honda MSRP. It does not seem to be based on the added features. I asked on the phone for a MSRP for a civic EX-L 4 door automatic WITH NO ADDED STUFF, and was told $26700. The real MSRP is around $22555. Am I missing something? I realize that dealers add stuff and often charge a lot more then it is worth. I also know that the real MSRP is printed on the window. But is it even legal to misrepresent the MSRP on a on going basis? That dealership and another one right next to it (Toyota owned by the same owners) are the only ones I can find that consistently do such stuff, and on significant number of thier cars. Re: Honda Fit near Seattle [wxl]

I've just started my search for a Fit. Which dealer was willing to go $550.00 over MSRP? In my limited quest I found that one dealer in Burien was not doing the Costco pricing because Costco was negotiating for $2500 over MSRP (if you can believe that) and their dealership was willing to sell for $1000 over. Nice. When I applied for the Costco program I received a response from a Bremerton dealer inviting me to come on down. I've since asked them what their negotiated price with Costco is. I'm waiting for their reply. The Lynnwood dealership had a $2000 plus mark up on the window stickers. When I inquired about the high mark up, the car salesman said that because we have cars on the lot you may be able to get a base (the one I test drove) model for $500 over MSRP. Which dealers have you looked at?
2009 Civic EX-L prices
by 1jacob on Sat Sep 27 21:13:08 PDT 2008
I called West Hill Honda in Bremerton Washington. They insist that a Civic EX-L 4 door with automatic trans. sells for $26900, and that is for a model WITHOUT any extras. That does not include navigation, not even car mats! That sounds like a huge rip-off to me. Am I missing something? I understand that there is a Costco program for members of Costco (I am). They negotiate the price with dealers that belong to that program. But they and the dealers will not tell you the Costco price, until you test drive the car. I already decided that I want this car. Does anyone know what the price is when using that program. Regards 1Jacob

When I was having almost the same issues with my '03 P5 as you describe my problem ended up being my coil-packs. I don't know if they have a way to check them without actually replacing them - I think they finally figured out my problem through a process of elimination but not before it toasted my catalytic converter! Good luck - hope it gets figured out for you soon.

There was no mistake here. I was talking about the Civic. In fact, there was one listed on the web with a Vin number and a stock number. I visited WEST HILL HONDA in Bremerton Washington a few month back, I test drove the car and the price was way too high then also, around $26000 for the EX-L. Now they said (over the phone) that it is $26900 with no additional items, no navigation and nothing else. They said that they belong to the Costco program, but I do not know what the Costco price is. In fact, I do not want to go to a place that starts off with such an inflated price. I though MSRP would be good for such a popular car. Why is it that they can not sell a car for MSRP (plus shipping and tax?). I don't get it.
