Every time i look at a the X5 or any BMW for that matter I am floored by the MSRPs. Why haven't the MSRPs dropped with the increasing strength of the dollar? BMW must be laughing all the way to the bank since X5s are built in my home state. The base price for the 3.0 is $47,100. You can barely option a V6 SRX up to that price. Most of the things that are options on the BMW are standard on other vehicles. The 3.0s that I have looked at are $57K!!!!!! And that's with only 225lb ft of torque. The 4.8s I have looked at are $72K. It's just amazing. There are so many things I like about the X5. The front legroom is huge(the rear is not however). The visibililty is much better than most. You can get a leather dash. Shadowline trim on the outside. Lots of wheel packages. Beautiful leather and color choices. As solidly built as any vehicle i have been in. The doors close with a THUNK! It is a great package. The front end design is brilliant. I don't like the plastic fascias and fender lips, but those can be painted. I like it more than my SRX(which does some things better) The 6 X5 weighs and astonishing 700 lbs more than the SRX. .......and why isn't there a RWD version of the X5? But I am going to continue to shop this vehicle and hope for some great deals. The diesel is a very interesting option with 400lb ft of torque at only 1750rpms. i wonder how long the tranny will last behind that much torque? LOL.

At lest the answer to last years site "Will styling save GM?" will soon be answered, just one year later. driver.....Oh So True! If the bailout does occur, then part of that money (since I'm a taxpayer, and should be allowed to have a say) should go towards shutting down the Hummer, the Buick, the Pontiac, the Saab, the GMC dealerships. If that means a buyout of the franchise, so be it. What we don't know is if GM truly does have a buyer for Hummer (as has been reported). Hummer was a bad idea from the get go. What did they have? 2-3 years, at most, where people were buying them? I don't know if Saab would be profitable on its own (as it used to be). I see their local franchises (both of them) really in disarray. I'm assuming that the local situation is reflected across the country. It shouldn't take much (relatively speaking) to shutter them in the U.S. The big "nut" would be the combined Pontiac/Buick/GMC franchises. In my local paper this a.m. the alleged fallout without the bailout would be as follows (full page ad sponsored by GM, probably ran in papers across the country)... -5.5 million jobs lost within 3 years -Personal income would drop $150.7 billion in the first year -$156.4 billion lost in taxes, unemployment costs and health care assistance -Domestic auto production would fall to zero Allegedly, these figures come from NADA. I'll also assume many of those numbers came from dealerships. Fact is, dealerships will, and should close. There's roughly about 25%-30% more production capacity, as well as sales capacity as the market will bare. We can't save everyone. We can save enough of them to let the domestic automakers regroup, and rebuild, while paying the taxpayer back.

Executive Salaries, Bonuses, Stock Options, and Other Compensation Those salaries and bonuses are even more reason to let GM DIE. Wagoner sees no reason to change the top tier managers. Gettlefinger sees no reason for the UAW to give concessions. GM cannot make it without outside cash to pay these high costs. Let them go. And I do not believe for one second that GM is that important to the US economy. Barely a blip on the GDP. Not even one half of one percent. You are living in the past as is most of the UAW members. You watch too much worthless TV. It is in Obama's court now. Bush handed it over to him. He does not want to deal with that bunch of losers in the 110th Congress.
95 Nissan pick-up won't start
by byrd2 on Mon Nov 17 21:46:53 PST 2008
Hi, My sister has a '95 Nissan, as I recall, small pick-up with the 4 cylinder engine in it. It would only start and barely run with no power after I replaced the plugs, wires, distribuitor cap, and rotor. Cylinder compression is good, adn fuel pressure is also good. After replacing those tune up components, I hgot it started only after setting turning the distributor up against on of the stops, counterclockwise. But as soon as you put it in gear, the engine would die. Hence no power. It has a timing chain, and has 160,000 miles on it. Could it be any f the camshaft/crankshaft position sensors have failed? Or the ignition module, as no check engine light comes on? Or a stretched timing chain, or bad tensioner. It sort of did make a racket from the fron of the engine. A broken timing chain would not allow the engine to start at all, but a loose one would sure throw everything off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Battery won't hold charge [exner60]

My car was parked at the airport for three days and when I got back the battery barely started the car. The valet brought the car up, turned it off, and left the radio on. The car would not start immediately but after taking the key out and waiting 5 minutes the car started. Seems like a car with only 20K miles and in use for a little over a year would not have a bad battery. Did you get an answer to your question about the battery not holding a charge? Also, it seems like places like Sam's, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts do not carry a battery that will fit in a fusion. Any alternatives other than the dealer?

The station I pass on my way to work, one of the higher priced ones around here has officially dropped under the $2 mark - $1.99. Filled the van last night for $1.93. Would have been $1.85 cash but I still get a better deal with the rebate on the credit card even though that is no longer the slam dunk it used to be. The Ody was low enough that the fuel light was on and even then they just barely squeezed $30 worth in.
