Re: i should have waited [ftlmatt]

You've _got_ to be kidding! You will not love it in the summer unless you live really far north. It is practically the perfect greenhouse. Audi's A3 is apparently losing the rear sunroof for this same reason--even with their roll-up shade, the cars got way too hot. The Audi dealer in Virginia recommended having the rear glass painted over, which is what many of his customers had done. And the new Fit's roof has way more glass. Honda has gone to something that looks good, but is extremely impractical. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed that they followed in the footprints of Scion, Audi, etc. Hopefully the glass roof fad will quickly go the way of the SUV. Honda, please give us a moonroof that will actually cool off the car on a summer day instead of roasting us to death.

no moonroof??? still???

Honda's decision to give next year's Fit a "panoramic sky roof" has dashed my hopes. I have been waiting for Honda to add a moonroof option to the North American Fit since it first came out. A moonroof has been available in both Europe and Asia since before the Fit was available in the U.S. I test drove the Fit the first week it was available in the U.S., but I decided to wait until they added the option (I assumed it would be here later the first year). Then I realized I'd have to wait for the 2007 model year. But it STILL wasn't around. Now they bring in that stupid panoramic sky roof for 2008, pretty much sealing the deal that I won't ever get a Fit. I live in Washington, DC, which is neither extremely hot nor cold for the U.S., but I drive into the sun to and from work, so most of us use A/C most of the year. The moonroof on my '89 Civic Si really helps the car cool off quickly, and I can get fresh air without the noise of open windows. The "panoramic sky roof" will only make the car hotter and stuffier. I've held onto my Si 3 years beyond when I expected to replace it, just waiting for the Fit. Now I think I'm getting an Audi A3 instead for twice the price. I'd rather pay an extra $2,500 for a Fit with a moonroof, if only they'd give me the option!!! Honda, won't you please give us a moonroof?

Hi Graphic, No, I think the Mayflower landed in 1620. Mine were late arrivals in 1638 and they settled about 30 miles north of Boston. Somehow the image of a car salesman doing a "bump and grind" is not too pleasing. That's a good enough reason to not hang around and negotiate for hours.
NJ Toyota dealership experience so far
by ody07 on Wed Apr 25 19:00:16 PDT 2007
All, As I said in one of my earlier posts #7215 that I am going with an Odyssey instead of Sienna due to various reasons in that post but I thought it is beneficial for everyone that I atleast share my dealership experience, so here it is: Bad One - Sansone's Route 1 Toyota, 100 Route 1 North Avenel, NJ 07001 - Never go to this dealer. When I went there to take a test drive (my first visit to any Toyota dealership in my life), I was loittering there for almost 40 mins trying to find out who can help me. But whenever I would look at any salesman, he would take his eyes away from me just so that I do not call him for help. And on top of that the whole entry door was all the time blocked with salesmen, managers etc al (meaning the whole crew) doing nothing but chatting/laughing etc. After waiting for 30-40 mins, finally my wife was able to get hold of someone, who finally sent a salesman. We said we want to take a look at 4Runner and Sienna both since we haven't decided on the vehicle yet. He let us test drive a 4Runner for less than a mile. Then at the end of it he asks are you ready to close the deal today. I said no...I don't even know which vehicle right now....how can I spend over $30K in next hour without thinking. Then he said ok and said he wil bring a Sienna key. And guess what...he never came back. We left cursing Toyota. And mind you that I was not alone there...I had my wife as well as my kid along with a stroller. GOOD ONE- 1) Toyotaland http://www.1800toyotaland.com 170 Route 22 East Springfield, NJ 07081 Excellent dealership. The sales man was terrific...it is unfortunate I won't doing business with him. If I was buying toyota I would buy from him. He never even took my number to call me and bother me...just asked for my name as introduction. Absolutely no pressure at all. Did not ask if I want to buy today or tomorrow or whenever. I test drove, he answered all my questions very patientlly, spent as much time only with me as I wanted, allowed me to test drive as long as I wanted.....I mean it was exceptional service. If anyone needs, I can send his name/number.

by carguy58 on Sun Feb 11 15:53:13 PST 2007
I saw a Mercedes the other day just parked in between 2 toll booths on the Exit 142(Garden Stare Parkway)exit ramp for I-78 West in Springfield, New Jersey. 10 minutes I saw another Mercedes sitting on the shoulder on Parkway North in Bloomfield, NJ by Exit 148. I also saw a mid 90's Land Cruiser sitting on the shoulder somwehere(forget where) this week.
