Road rage to the extreme.
by jipster on Thu Jun 26 13:09:15 PDT 2008
A few days ago, in Jeffersonville Indiana, there was an incident of road wage in which someone got shot. Apparently a man on a motorcycle and a woman in a SUV, with her 15 year old son, where engaged in some one upmanship on 10th street. When the guy on the motorcycle had to stop at a red light, he got off his bike and approached the woman. She pulled out a .38 and shot him in the chest. Listening to her 911 call you would think she is the victim. She's accusing the guy on the motorcycle of trying to hit her with his fist, saying she shot him in self defense. Take in mind police report shows windows on her SUV rolled up. Witnesses at the scene say the woman got out of the car and started mocking the victim, as her son kicked him while he lay bleeding. Prior history of the woman pulling a gun on another motorist during a road rage incident. Prior history of motorcycle rider... has time served for manslaughter. Grand Jury deciding whether charges should be filed on the woman. I think the idiot woman needs to go to jail for about 30 years. You don't shoot an unarmed person just for approaching your vehicle. The man is in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive. He is in a medically induced coma, thus has yet to give his side of the story.
XM Radio Title Display on a 2005 Acura MDX ? Help!
by psulionbacker on Tue Jan 10 14:21:01 PST 2006
Can anyone help me? I have a 2005 MDX Touring with Nav and I subscribed to XM Radio. I'm aware that I can press the Tune button and see all the information about the Song (Channel,Title Artist) on the screen. My problem is that when a title or an Artists name was too big for the radio display it used to "wrap around" so that I could see the end of the title or display. For some reason now it doesn't wrap around so now I only see the 1st part of the title. The full name is not displayed on the nav screen either when I display it up there. I called XM Radio and they said that my service was ok and that it might be a radio issue. They said that the radio we have in our car is a Pioneer radio and they gave me Pioneer's # - I called them but could not get through to their customer service line after 40 minutes... Does anyone have any ideas? Should I take it to the dealership? Is this a setting that I somehow messed up? Please advise! Thank you.
Re: Transmission Fluid Add/Change [gearhead46]

I'll start with the disclaimer... I'm a hobbyist and I don't trust my own advice half the time... AND, I'm the guy that mistakenly drained the CVT in the first place! ha! So take it with a grain of salt... My fist suggestion is that you should get into the dealer at your earliest convenience to at least get the issue on record with them... This is not only the first model year for the Freestyle, but also the fist year with an untested transmission (other than the Volvo stuff)... so get it in and at least make them aware of it... Doesn't really sound like a low fluid condition to me... If it was, it would be more like the transmission was slipping (revving high but not going), or taking too long to actually engage... and it would be persistent, not something that would just go away... Could have been a mechanical issue with the linkage (that connects the gear shift to the transmission)... but again, that's not something that would be intermittent... it would simply not shift/engage as you moved the gearshift through its range... Could have been an issue with a sensor or the ECM (computer)... but I'd be throwing darts at a board at this point to try to ascertain what was going on... but that leads me to another reason to take it in to the dealer... if your "check" light came on, it's likely that the ECM recorded the event and the dealer could pull the fault code to see exactly what happened. You could probably go to Autozone (big parts store chain here) and they could pull the code for you... but, whatever the problem is, it should be under warranty at this point so just let the dealer figure it out. Worst case, you could have something wrong with the CVT... better to get it in and get it looked at then to be in the middle of your next trip and have it go out... Sorry this was probably of no help at all... Best of luck!

I have the pebble interior and I haven't noticed the glare issue... but I have seen a couple other posts related to it... I've only got 1250 miles, but I'm averaging about 22.5 mpg (combined)... Sorry you're not thrilled with the new toy. Best of luck!

Nope, not more obsessive, just more of an idiot! ha! I was in a hurry and slid under the new car for the first time... It looked right, so I took the bad boy out... live & learn... I too am sort of a hobbyist-mechanic... this was a new low even for me! ha! Best of luck... at least we've learned something about the new vehicle. ha!
