Completed a deal in Boston

This site was very helpful to me so I thought that I would post the deal that I got tonight. 2007 EX-L AWD (no nav or DVD) for $28,250 with the 0.90% financing. Bought it at Clair Honda in Boston (W. Roxbury). Great dealership to work with...no games or broken promises. I had poor experiences with the quote process from Boch and Herb Chambers; they were are total turn off! They didn't give good deals with the extra (chrome steps, mud guards), but I can get these off ebay. Good luck folks.

Re: Click/thunk sound in dashboard [cdamech]

I posted a question about this clicking several months ago and most people who replied mentioned that it was normal. So, I assumed that it was and went on with life. Approximately 2 months ago, I noticed that the faint clicking sound started to intermittently change to a metalic clunking sound. After a few weeks it always made the louder metalic clunking sound and I could actually feel a slight thump in my steering wheel. (click, clunk thump, I know it sounds crazy) Anyway, I decided to take it in the Clair Honda in West Roxbury, MA. The service tech was nice and said they'd take a look. Next day received a call that the noise was normal and that I could pick it up. After telling them that the sound had changed they told me that my only option was to take a test drive with the service manager. I did so, but before we got in the car he admitted that while all CRVs make this sound normally, mine was louder than the sound he heard on a comparison car. Even so, they did not change out the shift solenoid. I had to come in and point out the abnormal noise that they already heard. So, we took it out for a quick 30 foot drive, I pointed out the sound. He agreed that it was present and he offered to demonstrate the sound on a brand new CRV. Fortunately for me, it didn't make any noise at all. The manager reluctantly mentioned that he could attempt replacing the shift solenoid switch but he couldn't promise resolution. I took him up on it (more appropriately, gently persuaded him) and the next day I got my car back- without any noise or thumping in my steering wheel. In my experience a faint noise is infrequently heard and is normal. Thumping in the steering wheel and a much louder noise is not- and it can be fixed under warranty. Hope this helps.

drjlbphd, Yes, the destination fee was factored in to my price. The dealer I purchased from was Clair Honda, West Roxbury, Mass. I should also note that Honda Cars of Boston also provided a very competitive quote, though they didn't have the car in my preferred color (while Clair did).

The Black Cherry would be my favorite as well, but I couldn't deal with the extra dollars and the moon roof's apparent loss of head room. The Shinka leather seats are nice too. As for happy motoring, I've got to tell you, running a Boston rotory in my rotary beats any driving fun I've ever had. On my way to work, there are four rotories which setup perfectly for hard G forces one direction while in the rotory and then sudden maximum G forces whipping back the opposite direct on exiting. The other "running rotories in my rotary" pleasure is the case of the occasional SUV cutting me off visually by passing on the left side on entering a Boston rotary. By using the high G whip turn on exiting, my rotary, Arwen Evenstar, has me past the wrath as she curses in elfish "If you want him, come and claim him." Then we disappear in the misty morning fog flying 55mph in second on old twisty roads through the mansion scape of Boston's West Roxbury and Brookline Hills. Way way to much fun. :)
