Re: Just returned... [grbeck]

I was hovering at 65 or less on I-94 the other day returning to Green Bay from Chicago in modest Saturday traffic. There do seem to be quite a few cops on that road. On the Edens Expressway part going south after entering IL a few days before that, I was lucky to be hovering at 20. Gotta love road construction season. :shades:

well, I have a great story that happened to me with the warranty work......I took the Jimmy to a "Napa auto care" facility, which I thought were on the same level as the dealership. Well, this one I went to in Eden, N.C. takes the cake for scam artists!!!!!! After the Jimmy was approved for the warranty work on the upper control arm bushings, they started the work on 5/12/08. To make a long story short....they got the approval for (4) bushings 2 per side at $13.00 each bushing. The Napa bushings that they were supposed to be using(because they are a Napa auto care facility) were $23.00 each bushing. Advanced auto bushings were $9.00 each, and the Autozone bushings were $6.00 each. So I asked him what ones did he put in, and after stuttering for 5 minuits, he spit out.....uuuuh.....Autozone. I fell out!!!!!!!! Here the guy was surely aware that I only wanted top end parts on the car (I told him this 10 times) I told him I'd pay the difference, and he still went behind my back and installed the cheap jap crap parts just to make $30.00 off the parts. The first thing I did was report him to Napa auto care (the regional manager is going there today...5/14/08 to remove the Napa name. This guy was using the Napa name to draw customers in, then he puts the cheapest parts on the car he could find.....making people think hes using Napa parts!!!!!!! Holy cow right?   And the regional manager is paying for the repairs on my vehicle out of his expense account for what happened(he doesnt weant me to go national with this probablly) BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!! :surprise:

Eden Prairie. I wasn't able to get the snow tire/wheel package I wanted, so had to white-knuckle it through this winter from mid-Jan. on...yikes. I bought mine from Luther way up in Brooklyn Park. They were willing to sell me the PRHT at invoice, and give me a decent (after some negotiating, of course) price in trade on my 06 Prius. Morries (minnetonka) and Walser were thousands of dollars higher on the same deal... especially Walser, from whom I'd purchased the darn Prius (along with my wife's HyCamry and another Prius in the past couple of years). As I recall, my deal was my Prius +6k or so, and Walser wouldn't come below something like my Prius +10 or 12k!!! By the way, I have a $250 "friends and family" coupon from Luther that's going to expire in a couple of months, if anyone can use it. I believe it's good at any Luther dealership, not just for Mazdas.

I didn't think they were religious or bible reading. The Garden of Eden was created by God, and the two humans put on a migration path after a shared light snack. AKA no C02 generating automobiles at the time  :shades: How do you like them apples?

Hey thanks for the information - i'm actually in Eden Prairie, but am only going to be here for six months, so hopefully no need for any non-warranty work! I think I'm going to try Sterling Enterprises to have the car detailed once we get a few days of clear weather in. Any other 335 coupe drivers in the twin cities area on the board?

Hi, mk: We're in Mpls (Hopkins, actually) and we've bought from both in-town dealers (Sears and Motorwerks). Really, they both provide great service. MW is a little more high pressure on the sales side, but they both are excellent for service. They can be sticklers about loaners if you didn't buy from them (and this is allowed by BMWNA--I checked), but maybe you can explain that you just moved here and see if they'll make an exception for you. I'm not sure where you are living in the TCs, but I can recommend both Mint Condition and Sterling Enterprises for excellent detail work (the owner of Sterling is in the local BMW Car Club--nice guy, but a little pricey). Once you're out of service or for any non-warranty work now, Orr Autosport in Eden Prairie is definitely the place to go. They do very good work at reasonable prices, plus they provide a lot of support to the local car club. Welcome to the Twin Cities!
