Horrible Ford dealer service attitude
by red27 on Thu Oct 30 09:24:45 PDT 2008
When I used Koons Ford on Rockville Pike it was wonderful. Arrive, hand keys over, serviced and out in 45 minutes. Not so at Lindsay Ford. First time I was booked in at 8.00am and did not get away until 1.00 pm. They took drive-ins before me and then lied that the car was being worked on when clearly it had not moved from the parking spot. Second time I booked in again, 9.00am this time and called beforehand to discuss my needs. Arrived at 9.00 and was told it would be two hours!! Just about to go back at 11.00am and got a call saying the rear brake pads needed to be replaced under the Ford recall scheme. So they had not even started on it anywhere near 9.00am. When I complained during the phone call the service manager got uppity with me. I am now told that it will be ready at 12.00. Another morning of missed work and appointments. Terrible old fashioned service mentality - we have you in a bind attitude - so they have just lost my custom and I am going to complain to Ford.
Picked up another 2008 TL w/nav this time in N.VA.
by tech1208 on Sat Oct 25 06:12:12 PDT 2008
Was visiting my cousin the is past Wednesday and told her what a great deal I had received in Miami, for my mother in-law. She wanted the same car, but wanted to purchase it locally. E-Mailed Rosenthal in Rockville, Pohanka in Chantilly, and Radley in Falls Church. Pohanka and Rosenthal responded immediately. Went to Pohanka for a test drive for her, and received best price from Rosenthal over the phone. Met with GSM at Pohnaka after phone call and agred on a 2008 TL w/nav carbon Bronze with ebony for $29,900 including the $399.00 processing fee. They had to locate the car, and she took delivery last night. Car had 12 miles on it when delivered. I must say the sales woman and GSM at Pohanka had to be some of the nicest people I have ever dealt with at a Dealership. No pressure, and straight talk.
New lease on RX-350
by uis00sn on Fri Oct 24 04:31:26 PDT 2008
Have gotten mine yesterday at Lexus of Rockville, MD. Here it is: Advertisement was 2008 Lexus PX350**** $ 399 per for 36 Month Lease = 14364 All leases are 10,000 miles per year and require the following at lease inception: 1st payment, applicable state & local taxes and tag fees, dealer processing fee of $349, down payment $3495 on the PX350, $700 acquisition fee PX350 AWD MSRP $43,591 ------------------ 1st negotiated a price for 39800. Then the complicated part started. Since I've come in FULLY prepared w/ all numbers it was well over the salesperson's head and I've dealt with the Gen.Sales mgr. He offere MF which translated to 5.52%APR which I immediately declined. After some haggling MF of 0.0013 (3.12% APR) was given.Oh, my FICA is 791. I've used a VERY interesting option (if you have some extra cash and don't mind to lock it for 3 yr at a rate of return of 15%/yr :) ) and added a multiple security deposit of 9 monthly payment - $3375 which brought my MF down to .00058 i.e. 1.392 % APR. So, my monthly payment is 353.19. Residual is 23975. I've paid taxes on a selling price (unfortunately, that's how it's in MD, I've had the dealer to show me the official state docs on it just to make sure), 1st month payment, title/tags, 3495 downpay, 700 acquisition fee, NO dealer fee and 3375 refundable security deposit. I also redemed $1679 I've accumulated using Lexus VISA AND $750 gift certificate from Lexus for attending their driving event this summer. Since there is a promotion for Lexus Visa until 10/31 I'm receiving another $500 towards my next (in 3 years) Lexus + by paying $5000 of "drive away" amount with, again, Lexus Visa there is another $250 for me :) Everything w/ paperwork has taken 5.5 hrs. I think time was well spent.
Honda Odyssey 2008 EX-L
by theman on Sat Oct 11 07:06:17 PDT 2008
Thank you from the ref message# 20591. I got my 08 Odyssey EX-L at Herson Honda at Rockville Maryland. This is a very FIRST time which I met a wonderful saleslady whose name is Ginny Marshall. We dealt very much mainly via email then follow up by the call. There was 100% no hassle. I came to the dealer the paper work were ready for me to sign. I did a test drive, checked the car. That was it. I got it. No waiting or nagging time !!! Anyone lives in Maryland. I strongly suggest you to come to Herson Honda to meet Ginny. Normally, we have to stay at the dealer nagging nagging from 3 to 6 hours before you leave the dealer with headache and upset which I experienced a few times before with my other cars ..
LT, Crew Cab w/ 5 cyl and many options
by misha1957 on Sat Sep 27 08:39:04 PDT 2008
I never throught I would buy a Colorado because the automotive press has always been so hard on them, but the deals over the past few weeks were too good to resist. Frankly, once I test drove one, it was clear the press had really exaggerated any drawbacks compared to the Tacoma. Also, after reading on the internet about Tacoma's un-resolved "engine surge" issues and the company's refusal to acknowledge them, I really soured on getting one of those. I had also considered Nissan's Frontier, but the company's reliability record has been generally no better (or worse) than Chevy's on JD Powers surveys the past few years, so I couldn't justify the higher price. Basically, the small-sized GM trucks started looking better and better, and the massive incenrtives finally enticed me. Anyhow, I digress. Here was my buying experience on Sunday, 21 September 2008. I did massive research on he internet, so I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I was willing to pay. I found exactly what I was looking for and called the dealer up to make sure it was still in-stock - a 2008, Colorado Crew Cab, LT, 5 Cyl, RWD, in Dark Ruby pretty well "loaded" with: - Leather seats & Leather wrapped steering wheel - Power seats (both passenger & driver) - Heated seats - Side air bags - Power windows, locks and mirrors - Sunroof/moonroof - 6-disc,CD changer w/ XM & MP3 - Sliding rear window - Chrome wheels (basically extra-shiney "alloy" wheels) - Onstar - Bedliner - probably a couple of things I'm forgetting MSRP was 27,5XX, GM Employee price was 24,7XX, minus $1,500 "cash back" it came to $23,265, and after subtracting an additional $1,500 in GM credit-card discounts, it came to $21,765. Unfortunately sales tax was $1,800, which pretty much wiped out my GM-card benefits - Maryland sucks for sales tax. The dealer's finance guy got us 4.9% interest over 60 months thru BoA (which beat my bank's pre-approved 5.44%). I'd newer used this dealer before (Ourisman Rockmont, in Rockville MD), but they were fine, and very efficient. The entire process from walking in, to driving home took about 1hr 20 minutes. So far, so good. I'm happy with my purchase. We'll see how it holds up over time; maybe I'll post a follow up in a few months. Regards, Mike R.

I'm also looking forward to the Fall Carlisle Show the following weekend, and then Hershey the weekend after that. That will wrap-up the 2008 car show season for me. Yeah, it's hard to believe the classic car show season is wrapping up already! Carlisle on the October 4th, Hershey on the 11th, a local show in Rockville, MD that I'm taking the LeMans to on the 18th, and then that's it. The season seems like it really went by fast this year. But then, I think I say that every year.
