Re: '99 suburban electrical issue (wierd combination) [bradleyd]
by snowman1975 on Sat Jan 21 20:15:39 PST 2006
This message is in regards to message #334 by Bradleyd. I am having the same weird electrical problem on my 99 Suburban. The Service engine soon light comes on as well as the check guages. When this happens, the tachometer and speedometer stop working and the shift lights go out. I have a code reader and reset the codes after writing them down and it ran flawlessly for a little while but the problem came back. The codes are for the TCC solenoid switch, but I am almost certain it's just something electrical. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not too excited about giving a mechanic money when I am pretty sure they won't look for the right thing. So if Bradleyd is out there and got his fixed, I would love to hear from him. Or anyone else for that matter who has any ideas.
Oil Filter again
by grayhackle on Thu Mar 31 09:32:43 PST 2005
It finally occured to me that you must have a 4 cylinder. Not sure where their filter is located. I have a V-6 and easily accessable. Sorry if I screwed my first post up! Not a mechanic, but do a lot of my maintenance on my vehicles.
Oil Filter
by grayhackle on Thu Mar 31 09:00:07 PST 2005
The few times I have changed my oil, I removed the filter from above with no problem. Had my radiator flushed and oil changed yesterday and the filter was removed from above by the "pro's" O3's must be easier to get to than yours. No sense arguing about bolts. I went through all the metrics and none would fit (too large or two small). The SAE cured the problem!
Re: Scrape plate on 2002 Camry LE [210delray]

New member, first post. Walmart oil changes trashed my pan. They seem to prefer to get to the oil filter from below. Anyway, two bolts near the center were missing, the pan dropped down and was dragging when I hit low spots. On the 03 Camry it is a 5/16" bolt 18 threads/inch. Also on the 03 it seems to be holding the front "bumper" together. The bumper was loose until I pulled it together by replacing these screws. I check them after every oil change.(not walmart anymore) I was amazed that the bolts on the 03 were not metric. I had to clean up the threads on the car with a thread chaser.
Re: 2003 Camry - air conditioning problem [llewtwo]
by grayhackle on Tue Apr 05 10:44:43 PDT 2005
I had this problem and it was the "cabin air filter" I had never changed it in 34,000 miles and it was really plugged up. Remove the glove box and you will see it. Pull out and check. Jiffy Lube charged me $39.95 for this little jewel. I would check Auto Zone. Thus far, my Walmart doesn't carry any filters for my 03 Camry. If this is it, it would be a simple fix!
