Used 04 Odyssey
by thericker25 on Wed Jul 18 20:33:45 PDT 2007
In December 2006 I purchased a used 04 EX with leather. It had 38,000 miles and had been leased for 2 years. It was in near new condition, absolutely beautiful. We paid $17,900. (Contra Costa Auto, Oakley CA) I'm happy to take 'slightly used' for 10 Grand in savings. These folks give GREAT service. We're having engine troubles right now, I'm not too pleased with Honda, but these 'Used Car Salesmen' have jumped right in to help us out. I'll buy from them again.

Paul, one of my worst "investments" was a pair of prescription Oakley sunglasses, that I used primarily for skiing. Very expensive but eyes change with time so now, as I've aged, they are less effective. I mainly use the Smith Anti-Fog cloths to reduce fogging. I also have some ancient Apollo Anti-Fog that's fantastic. Jim

My wife and I bought a '05 FWD SEL in March. I was driving a '99 Eclipse, so it was a huge difference. It drives well, looks good, doesn't suck on gas mileage and is just comfortable to drive. We bought it in our plan to have kids, we have one on the way. How does it hold up with car seats, strollers, pack-n-plays? Enough space or does it lack in the kid carrying department? We just got the recall repairs to the gas tank, a lot of dealers are back ordered on the straps, just a warning. The only problems I have had are: The 6 disc changer does not play homemade CD's very well. The gas cap leash is a pain. The replacement of the fog light lens is very expensive and not covered under warranty. In the winter when you select a desired temp (when the climate control is off) the A/C is automatically turned on, even though the temp is set for high heat. No light in the glove box. The promo book says a laptop computer can fit in the armrest bin, but really it is not that big. Oakley sunglasses get stuck in the eyeglass holder. Handle on 3rd row seats gets stuck and will not lift sometimes. Thanks for your input! :shades:

Yeah, had my Oakleys on, I thought that might be it but I've never noticed it driving in any other vehicle before. Probably just more sensitive to things since its a new vehicle. Thank you for clearing that up...

Are your sunglasses polarized? If so, that is probably the cause of this. When wearing my polarized Oakley's, any glass tinting appears in odd purple or green stripes.

Jason- Thanks for the excellent and informative post. FYI: I put my curved Oakley sunglasses in the dash-top compartment. -Frank P.
